Sombra "buff" on the PTR

Well of course youre showing the part where he tried to show off how its a buff to defensive Sombra. But he was covering the nerfs as well.

Like to note what Fitzy doesnt mention in this clip himself, but he uses translocator to access quick highground and ends up with a 5 second cooldown because the throw was shorter than 2 seconds.

This highlights the nerf to her mobility.

Permanent stealth did nothing to harm the character and created a lot of new possibilities for her, while people comlained about petty nonsense like not being able to make this or that jump anymore. I really think a lot of people don’t understand what to prioritize here, they are just saying this is a straight nerf when being able to pocket a Recall AND scratch it to insantly throw it out in combat makes it a hell of a lot better for every playstyle overall. I mean seriously, people are complaining that they have to wait 2 more seconds when they chuck it into an enemy team to bait an ult, big whoop.

Perma stealth didnt hurt the character. The compensation nerfs did. lol
Sombra after the duration patch couldnt do anything new which she couldnt already do on the old with duration management.

This change is definetely better than recent TP rework.

I counted the frames. That’s… 1 second, not even close to 0.5 seconds, not even throwing it up in the air.

WOW this video when he goes on highground or when he try to translocate and then emp he had to wait less than 0.5s more on his cooldown than in live server

0.5s nerf in one situation for 2 translocators in other case
it s big buff

In 1 situation? Do you have any idea how often translocator is used for mobility in just 1 game?

yeah but it s your video not mine your video showed 2 situation and on both situation you nerf that you are crying for is 0.5s to 0s and not 2s

and in my video the buff is 4S
also with this buff you always want to put your tl before the fight to profit of this new change

The dev decide how we played a heroes it s not a change like " it depends on your playstyle if you do that it s a nerf if you do that it s a buff"
no it s more " if you cant adapt and dont want to profit of the 4s buff you are an idiot"

The jump to high ground is a straight 1 second nerf. Youre downplaying the nerf here for your argument.

Not even sure why we’re arguing here and defending an unwarranted cooldown nerf. If they left the cooldown alone or made it 5 seconds, we wouldnt have this discussion here.

And btw, its only a 4 second effective buff if your were standing on your healthpack and waiting like an idiot.
If you run straight to your destination and threw it back when it were off cooldown, you were cutting the effective downtime at least in half.

no if you use your translocator to come back faster on the fight to do a clutch emp or because you think this a critical moment to win or loose in this case that s a straight 4s buff

how many times I reach the fight 1 or 2s late and I was damn I could saved my team
and even if you just put it again you doesnt count the fact that you have an instant escape if an ennemy found you which was not the case if you just run and launch your teleporter back on your health pack at this time you dont have any escape
and most of the healthpack are in the corner so you cant run far from them to launch your tl on them to gain time

Since you use stealth to get back to the fight faster that doesnt happen usually, unless they have a Widow or Hanzo with wall hacks up.

The usage to bring you quicker to the fight makes it a full commitment without escape, which is usually only a good idea in overtime.

no just in overtime but if you know the wave of ult(everyone press q) is coming and want to shut down or to emp before them to protect your team or if your team is to 2vs 3
or to finish a low hp ennemy

there is a lot of situation when you want to come back faster by using your tl not just overtime

= If I play Sombra passively and just aim to poke the backlines, it’s a buff. If I play Sombra offensively, like many other vet Sombras, it’s definitely a nerf. We can’t effectively utilise the mobility provided by TL anymore and the 2S cancellation is gone.

Passive Sombra only works on defense. I dont even see how you could change your “playstyle” to not use translocator for mobility on attack unless you want to use her suboptimally.

On attack, you’re only really going to do it if you know that you can build your EMP of the enemy team really quickly or if you are certain that your team can take advantage of a distracted team. Other than that, yeah, it’s pretty sub-optimal. Why Blizzard is trying to encourage that playstyle is beyond me. Now you’re going to see most Sombra’s nowhere near fights and then question: “was our sombra even doing anything?”. What was the saying before this? infinite stealth, infinite blame?

Like i said, i dont think it ends up being a buff or a nerf. It just shifts downtime from one scenario to another. So bottomline it wont help her and only trolls Sombra players.

That just isn’t true, it made way more possible than it made inpossible, spawn camping, stsying beind enemy lines between pushes etc. Sombra on a timer was a god awful character, good riddance.

Funny how i and other Sombra mains already did that on the old patch. Must have been a miracle.

Does this work in high ladder? I only ever do this in QP and I always do it to a McCree or Zen. And besides, it’s already doable without the change.

Not any where near as effectively, you can indefintely grief supports comming out of spawn to the point where their team mates have to peel back now. Being on a timer was just a dumb implementation of an infiltration character.
