Solid ideas to decrease DPS queue times

Appealing to DPS players doesn’t work because DPS have no intention of playing a shield tank regardless.
Try and you just isolate the actual tank players

Thats the beauty of the idea! They dont have to participate!

My idea takes dps out of dps queue lowering times
My idea puts tanks in queue lowering times
My idea rewards players for learning new roles with experience and even shorter queue time.
My idea wont hurt dps players that dont participate, they can continue waiting in line like always.

The obvious solution is to remove role queue, then you will not have long DPS queue times.

Actually thats the direct opposite of the solution since removing 222 wont be happening.

Here is another dumb solution… go play quickplay classic if you want to play dps.

Quickplay classic is NOT equivalent to normal competitive mode. Stop pretending like it is.

Here is yet another dumb solution in the same vein of removing role lock… just imagine qpc is competitive and give yourself brownie points after a win. Not a real solution is it? Hell, this solution may even offend you. Remember most of the player base fully supports 222.

Id like to see dps enjoy the game but i want things to be fair for everyone. My solution is fair and an actual solution. Removing role q is not a real solution because its not going anywhere.

If they make a normal competitive mode, with normal matching and ranking like they have always done, and put that alongside role queue, that would be fine. Boring people who want boring games and long waiting times can use role queue, and normal people can use normal competitive mode. Everyone wins.

I was a flex player before role prison. I will not queue for anything besides DPS now that my role has been eliminated.

I think it’s actually a good idea. Frankly, DPS queuers should have to pay money to queue, and people who play tank or support should be paid to be stuck with those roles.

Think about your solution for just minute. Why would any healer or tank ever queue for a regular competitive when they have eveything they want (guaranteed tanks and 2 guaranteed healers) in role lock? What you are asking for is a dps only queue that would split the player base even more.

Since you wont have tanks ever youd have huge dps balance issues. Its a bad idea that wont work.

They need to make tanks overall just more appealing to play. I feel like tanks like Wrecking Ball, D.Va, and Zarya are a step in the right direction. Not many people enjoy the defensive nature of shield tanks like Orisa and Rein, but enjoy more aggressive playstyles to tanks.

That’s easy. For people who select their role based on the map, or whether they are attacking or defending, they most certainly do not have what they want with role queue, nor can they ever. Also, so every game isn’t a boring 222 vs 222. There are so many reasons. Normal mode for normal people, role queue for boring people. Everyone wins.

Yes they do. At this point, you would have to pay me to play either of those roles. You want less DPS queue times? That’s the way to do it.

As a tank and a healer main i can tell you now that no tank or healer would ever go back to how things used to be.

There are tanks and healers for every map. The queue you suggest would be nothing but dps. That in of itself will keep tanks and healers away.

However i do sincerely wish theyd add your idea so the dps that like shield tanks will get into their games faster in role queue hue
