Maybe LFG should be the standard, I often have an empty LFG list, also the reason I often avoid it.
It would be nice if this was a reliable and consistent option.
LFG can take a while to set up, especially for ranked, even during peak times.
There are almost always leavers after a match or two.
The tools are there, but said tools are extremely blunted and rusty. Theyâll work, but itâs not much better, if at all.
I cant grind comp more than a couple games at a time anyways I try hard way to much in that mode and I think thatâs why alot of people leave. They just want a break before the next match
Or simply incentivized in a similar way arcade is.
Give us role q with a forced 2 2 2. If you want to play a tank you q as a tank. That would also allow to have 3 different SRs for different roles.
Give us role q for comp and QP. The rest can stay as it is.
Yeah, that never happens.
Itâs more 20+ minutes, all the while people leave throughout.
This in a new game mode would be nice
This is simply not true. I have never looked for a group for more than 10 minutes. Even at night. And I use LFG always.
So they fixed LFG so it doesnât adjust for me being in a 6 stack of randos as opposed to solo queuing with 5 randos?
Then we have two different sides.
Even at peak times I get maybe 4 people, while we sit waiting for a 5th player someone leaves and puts us back a player.
With that time I could have solo queued and played at least a couple of games already.
Yeah in a game that losses players every day and the only alive region is North America.
Really flex player will suffer.
Imagine youâre a tank main and play a lot of Rein and Orisa. The other tank main in your team plays Orisa and Roadhog sometimes.
Than you get to the game with enemy Widow and/or Genji dominating your team.
Usually a good flex players will switch to dva and/or winston but what if your mercy plays Winston better than you?
There is a lot of such situations and it happens to a teams full of flex players.
The ability to swap roles and not only heroes inside the selected role is the only advantage that good and nice flex player have over stubborn one-tricks (yeah the labels). And you want to remove it completely. Wow.
There are plenty of reasons to not use LFG
- Itâs slow
- Groups usually demand mic
- MMR varies more between players
- Youâll face more smurf groups
- Youâll face more tryhard groups which makes your gameplay less casual
- Many players leave groups right after a game which means youâll have to search after almost every game
- Be active instead of just sitting in queue
- Sometimes they demand higher endorsement levels
So instead of just selecting a preferred role and pressing queue you have to go through the whole process which most players would rather not do. The only times Iâve been in LFG groups has been when Iâve been invited into them from games.
This is an inaccurate statement. Here are a couple of excuses that you seem to have failed to understand:
- I love LFG and try to use it frequently, but no one else is, so I rarely ever get a group.
- Even if I do get a group, I am matched against well-coordinated sixstacks, and the only real advantage we have is that weâre all playing the role we feel like playing right now.
- LFG divides the queue.
So you donât want a role Q? The only reason for not wanting a role queue is if youâre a sh!thead that just want to spam your favorite DPS hero, regardless of what your team is doing, and donât want to wait the extra minute for your game to start.
Here is a thread that may make you reconsider.
What servers are you on? Iâm on NA and it rarely takes over 10 minutes and more often than not its 5 or less
That how it should be? I micro manage my groups over a 3 game span usually and after some ruthless kicks to people I feel are holding us back we usually become the 6 stack your talking about. Those are the groups that stick it out and find the people they synergize with.
Probably true
Or you enjoy having it both ways and realize that if you pick the 2 minute que option you get what you get and the longer wait for DPS players which make up 2/3 of the games players probably isnt the healthiest decision for the games population. Iâm not really against it but any que that spikes the wait above 5 minutes isnt worth it to me. The quickness that overwatch is known for i.e. getting into a quick match getting out and doing it again is not something that should be compromised on. At the same exact time I love the idea of separate SR depending on role and it sounds like it could resolve alot of headaches that solo Q brings to the table.
Iâm on EU.
That is absolutely not how it should be. I shouldnât have to wait 5-10 minutes AND get more difficult matches just to be able to play what role I want, when the option (introducing role queue) means that I have to wait at most a minute or so extra if Iâm dps and actually LESS if Iâm tank or healer, and then get a fair game.
Not quite sure what youâre trying to say here. But let me explain it this way.
If you want to play tank, a role queue will give you games faster.
If you want to play healer, a role queue will give you games faster.
If you want to play DPS, a role queue will give you maybe a minute extra wait time, and when you get a game, you will get to play DPS just like you wanted. The alternative (what we have right now) will give you a game a minute faster, but about half your games you will have to flex onto something you donât want to play, and then play that for the 20 or so minutes a game takes.
If you want to play a role thatâs not your main, a role queue will enable role specific SR that matches you in a team with the appropriate skill level for that role. The alternative (what we have now) is that if you want to (or HAVE to, which frequently happens by the way) play a role thatâs not your main, you will feel like sh!t for a whole game and not enjoy it anyway.
The Thing is:
If you use LFG youre playing against 6 Stacks. Which is Not always so nice because a freshly Made 6 Stack is Not as Good as a 6 Stacks who had a lot of practice already.
You see People want role queue for competitive to play THE ROLE they want to play as in DPS TANK OR SUPPORT which is okay or Not ??
I mean its mit Stealing the Diversity of comps or stuff but look at other Games , the role queue didnt hurt them in fact the role queue provided a more competitive feeling for the competitive play, it just feels better to have Everything there, 2 Tanks 2 dps 2 supports. And to play your main and to Climb without needing to cheese hard with 3 3 comps or 4 2 comps is fine because those comps are Frustrating to play against especially when nobody wants to Switch Off of their character because they are not comfortable in other Heroes.
I Think its fair to give everyone the chance to play what they are most comfortable with. And if that needs a role queue in comp so be it.
With a role queue , the chances of getting a thrower or someone who needs to fill in a Spot which they are not as Good as with their main Spot which mostly ends into them feeding or being flamed and being pushed into an uncomfortable position⌠oh could be solches with the role queue.
Oh would maybe provide into lead Toxic People and a less Toxic environment for us all.
Though its just an idea.
I agree with you - the best you can do right now is LFG unless you play with a steady group - people complaining about queue times need to either accept a small wait or accept potato teams. Sometimes you canât have it all, you have to pick between the lesser of two evils. Its an aspect of maturity.

âm on EU.
I honestly would of imagined it being just as populated if not just a little segmented cause of all the language barriers. This is why lfg needs incentives added.

That is absolutely not how it should be
How exactly is role q going to be any different? Itâs still going be 6stack vs 6stack and the odds of one being better than the other will be nearly the same.
How about âYou want to play with questionable comps because you and/or your teammates just wanna play whatever? Then use LFG! You can make group with people of the same mindset and donât ruin the game for everyone wanting to play the game as itâs supposed to be playedâ
The vast majority of my games are 222 anyway and the non 222 comps are again mostly setups you can work with.
On the other hand a role queue severely reduces options for flex players, people will try to trick the system and increasing the queue time for the most popular role (that means a lot of players) is a problem of its own.
So - no, thanks! Role queue introduces problems while trying to solve a problem I donât have .
