Is that really the reason we got the event delayed?
Or was it because OW2 has been lied about for the past 2 years.

At the time of Retribution, he would have still been using his false identity, in which case it wouldn’t make much sense for the other characters to call him Cassidy there.
I’m expecting that there will be some rephrasing of the dialogue in Retribution so that the characters don’t call him by name at all. That way they can remove the old name from the Overwatch game product (which is the primary purpose of the name change) while still adhering to the timeline of Cassidy reclaiming his name alongside the reformation of Overwatch.
