  2. The animation cancel that went away was Hammer Swing out of Toggled Shield.
  3. Skill doesn’t come into play because it had nothing to do with anything.

The Hammer Swing out of Shield toggle made sense. Reinhardt swings the hammer with one hand. Now he has to drop the shield to place his shield hand on the hammer before letting go again to swing it.

The move itself punished players for getting too close to Reinhardt. The skill had to do with the other team not being stupid enough to stand there.

You know who else uses animation cancels? Players who aren’t pro. The fact that you think animation cancels is what makes XQC a pro is the joke here.

Xqc and others are pro players due to insane game sense and positioning, game sense include KNOWING AND USING ALL ANIMATION CANCELS.

Animation cancels are a big difference in terms of rein v rein skill difference.

Tracer to me is slightly overpowered, but then again she is not.

Animation cancels are actually something that’s not intended for the hero

But at the same time removing them ruins a hero

I’m not saying it’s not annoying or inconvenient. Lol I’m just saying if you use cancels and I don’t that doesn’t mean you’ll outplay me.

How delayed is the swing? I haven’t played much Rein this season and haven’t tested it out.

Genji is using his laughing emote in the face of those animation cancel “bug fixes”

You have to wait until Reinhardt places his left hand on the hammer hilt before hammer swing takes place. I would say the delay is about half a second of more. You used to just swing the hammer without the shield having to “go away”.

Him having bugs excuses his being picked TWICE as much as the next tank?

Every. Hero. Has. Bugs. It’s no excuse to ignore their very obvious balance issues.

Rein being picked twice as much as the next tank is more due to the lack of viability with the other two main tanks.

That’s a problem with those two particular tanks as Rein had always been considered the most balanced tank even with his bugs.

You are conflating the need for a tank on your team with why Reinhardt is being picked.

Reinhardt has a 2000 HP shield, That is Mobile. None of his bugs revolve around keeping the shield up until it is gone. Having twice the “pick rate” simply to have a mobile shield on your team doesn’t mean Reinhardt is too strong. His bugs have to do with the interactions between his other abilities when used from holding his shield up, and the hit detection of Hammer Swing, Charge, and to a much smaller extent Fire Strike. Earthshatter finally got debugged in full, if not at least partially.

He is picked alot for the one thing that aint broke.

Well for starters, nobody said “he has bugs, so it’s okay for him to be picked often”, and I honestly have no idea how you could have possibly managed to take that away from what was said. “He has bugs, and they need to be fixed” is a different sentence entirely.

Secondly, pick rate has exactly nothing to do with whether or not a hero is balanced, and has more to do with whether or not they can provide a sufficient level of utility given a particular scenario or meta. He happens to be meta, but that doesn’t mean he’s overpowered: It simply means that given the current state of the game, he provides a level of utility that is greater than other heroes in similar roles, which is only either Orisa or Winston. Winston is dive, and is countered by Brigitte, and Orisa is a laughable choice with Hanzo suddenly picking up as a one-size-fits-all DPS + hyper-mobile tank-buster, plus Widowmaker renders her fairly useless simply because she’s a hard-counter to Orisa. This leaves Reinhardt simply by process of elimination, and the fact there are too few main tanks currently present in the game as it is.

And rather than explain why Rein’s balanced as is, I think I’d rather ask: What part of Reinhardt’s kit do you think isn’t actually balanced? Because every part of his kit is either highly counter-able, or doesn’t provide insane levels of utility that can be easily abused.

As Reinhardt, main I do not like these new changes he still buggy as ever now with earth-shatter like serious blizzard if you can’t fix him just give him a new ultimate rework for god sake am tired of all this nerfs and bugs for tanks stop hating on tanks like why!

For Reinhardt, new rework ultimate like I said before give my man 2 hammers and rampage mode like Winston where he murder players and swing like a madman I like this way better rather have 2 hammers then deal with earth-shatter bugs over and over also fix his charge tired of players flying over my head or bouncing off my shoulder like come on FIX HIM RIGHT NOW!!!
