Not like i’m from OWL or something but if cree cannot land few shots on coming doom’s giant hitbox, dodgle punch/slam with roll (coz it’s always fixed trajectory once it started so it’s not that hard), flash him and fam him down (since he’s like 1-2m away, big and standing still it’s easy to land all shots) then it’s probably pretty much deserved elim for doom. And if cree’s team doesn’t even turn around during that 2-4 sec sequence then it’s a deserved escape.
I get it guys, he’s a must pick in this double shield meta but telling his counters suddenly doesn’t counter him anymore…it’s a bit too miserable. Pick cree or sombrero and tell your team when he’s charging into you and the job would be done. Peace.
It isn’t so much that Mccree doesn’t counter Doom, it’s that he doesn’t counter him well enough.
Your team has to actually call things out, help damage him, etc… and on top of all that you’re still stuck babysitting the backline.
Forum-Widow can not be beaten, because she 1v6 whole team from a distance.
Forum-Doomfist can not be beaten because he 1v6 whole team from super close.
The doomfists ive seen dont come right in your face as doomfist, and if they do they will get bubbled by their zarya most likely. They usually hide somewhere and come from behind to uppercut, land 2 shots and punch back out
This last statement is the prime issue - people still don’t understand the necessity of peeling… when we typify protecting and peeling as "babysitting’ then we have a problem.
When the hero who we’re trying to counter has an objectively low skill floor, then yes, we want a counter with a low skill floor as well, because really, that’s simply how balance works.
McCree counters Doomfist. It’s a 100% hard counter.
I play mainly Doomfist in GM, McCree is by far his hardest counter. You don’t even have to be all that great at McCree to shut him down tbh.
I pull out McCree here and there too in my games to shut down a Doomfist if need be. My McCree is literally diamond level at best, and I don’t have an issue shutting down other GM Doomfists.
So, you’re saying all these 4 hours of DF you played, either you or enemy dps were throwing? So, you got into GM because playing vs throwers?
Man, that matchmaker is bad, why we others can’t get only enemy throwers in our games?
He CAN counter Doom but it’s a tough matchup. Without flash McCree is literally a guaranteed kill for me as a Doom main.
I’ve been playing McCree a lot lately and my Doomfist knowledge has helped me TREMENDOUSLY for countering him. I know where he’s going to engage from, his movements are extremely telegraphed, uppercut makes him super vulnerable.
The problem is everyone on here wants easy mode counters to things and instant gratification. Brigitte anyone?
Yes McCree can counter Doomfist. However people on here expect you to be able to switch to McCree and that’s all you have to do. It’s not that simple and frankly it shouldn’t be.
Because you can stun him before he gets an ability off, and kill him in the stun with either fan or 2 headshots. McCree wins at longer range, and he’s also really good at close range. Ever since his fire rate buff, he’s been a really effective counter. I didn’t really consider him one until that change.
