So basically every support tends to have a downside but an upside as well, let’s take a look at all of them.
Lucio, Mercy, and Moira all need to be very close to heal but they make up for it by having good mobility.
Brig also needs to be close to use her passive healing yet she doesn’t have mobility so she makes up for it for having good sustain.
Ana doesn’t need to be close to heal yet she makes up for it by not having any mobility.
Zen can stay very far away and has insane damage but makes up for it by having very low heals.
Baptiste has mobility, damage, range, and sustain… But hey lmao just shoot his immortality field loool 4Head

I think the closest thing is being very unreliable in dive/spread comps as he can’t land directs on far away targets as easily and can’t spam heal the whole team since they’re not stacked
But in rush and bunker he’s busted

I think you’re using the term “mobility” a bit loosely TBH. He can get up to high places. That doesn’t make him a “mobile” hero.

Baptiste has poor sustainability and a big hitbox. Basically like Zen.
Additionally, he can miss his healing shots and heal for 0, like Ana. Unlike Ana, Baptiste has arced projectiles, so he kinda needs to stay near his targets.
Baptiste isn’t as insane as y’all wanna make him seem, he just needs some stats lowered a bit.

Depends if you consider vertical mobility… but yes. He is basically a monster.

He has self heals and immortality field? He can also be super hard to hit since he can literally jump off highground force you to go down as well to chase him then jump right back up.

I’d say moira is more survivable; bap can access way more areas and set up high ground easier

I agree with this one that he seems like an outlier in performance. Even in season 26, Baptiste was like the top 4 supports picked and by a healthy amount. You still saw several top 500 Baptiste players in a meta that arguably should never support him. Though Moira has no where to be seeen in top 500 for 2 seasons back to bakc pretty much. There is like 1 player who has them in their top most picked.

He might be overtuned. But if we are comparing kits, he has no cc, his healing is arc projectile, so could be less reliable than mercy or ana, especially for distant flankers, flyers, or people on high ground.

He has those abilities on rather long cooldowns. Even comparing the aoe heal to Ana’s grenade on a similar cooldown, it may heal more but much slower and with no extra benefits.
Immortality can be used to save Bap’s life maybe, and even then it’s kind of a huge waste if the enemy is planning around that possibility.
And if you immediately chase the man off the high ground knowing he’s just gonna jump back up there, you deserve the run around. You could just stay up there until he’s forced to back away, then go after him.
Also, the time it takes Bap to charge the jump is basically free damage for you. Take advantage of it.

Yes but it’s impossible to track him when he’s jumping.
He has to slow down to jump… and you move in a predictable arc while you’re in the air… Like, I really don’t think this is a good hill to die on, man

i think hes only broken at the most top tiers of gameplay. diamond or below i say he is alright but we do balance by top down so lets see if they nerf him in the future?

He has mobility, damage and good abilities for sustain. Kind of hard to kill him as Lucio when he wins 90% of the duels
