Skins are not "new content"

The battle pass being full of skins hidden behind a pay wall - is not new content. Where are all the new maps that they’ve teased over the years, especially with the announcement of Overwatch 2?

Where are all the resources going to if they’re no longer going towards PvE? Since they’re not fully focused on PvP, why aren’t they releasing MULTIPLE maps each season? Why aren’t all the old features from OW1 back all at once? Why are they still underperforming?

This company is absolutely f’ed and they have consistently lied about everything they’ve been doing.

Bold of you to assume there were any resources to begin with.

Skins are not content and the events are not content as well because they have low quality. Only content are heroes and maps but looking at the quality of the new maps thats also going downhill. Last support was also rushed and has bad quality.

Also skins are outsourced to other companies (which is why they look bad and there’s no real visual continuity from one skin to the next) so it’s not like they even take resources away from making actual new content.

Wait, really? They outsource the skins? Any links on that?

So much of yes.

If you only play OW for digital skins then you don’t need to worry.

If you care more about gameplay then welcome to the hell hole that is OW2 now!

There is content going towards PvE. That is how the campaign is being made. New enemies and cinematics to pair with new areas to fight in. That takes resources. They pulled from Hero Mode to keep PvP updated but the main campaign still takes resources.

From what I understood from one of my friends there’s only at best five people or so working on the game, so I doubt there will be much of any new content - I think anything added is probably stuff they made back when there were still resources allocated to the game. So really, I suggest people temper any expectations they have left for the PcE story mode.

Imagine not having a main campaign in a game for seven years and still thinking you’ll get one. PVE went the way of the Overwatch First Strike: cancelled lol.

The resources decided to quit. We have a half-built ship of Theseus in place of a development team.

All released except Gothenburg and India actually

I mean considering it is coming out in August then yes I would confidently say it exists. Also OW2 has officially existed for less than a year. Maybe 14 months if we count the betas. 1 and 7 are very different numbers.

Ok but we are getting new heroes, maps, game modes like every season. With permanent game modes to the arcade or QP/comp also being added.

Like we are getting more stuff then we did in OW1.

Tbh, I don´t want that. I have hard time to get my favourite map ONCE a day, while I got to play it multiple times in OW1. I like new maps, but 1 every 2 seasons is enough. Same goes for heroes.
What I really miss as content are events with event modes like archives, etc.

This was actually more or less the reason why they had map pools.

As it allowed certain maps to pop up in rotation more often. Otherwise, it would just get lost in the in the constant additions.

Obviously the resources are going to Bobby’s next yacht.

Map pools means also “no certain map for month” or so, that is worse.
They should rather fix it, so I don´t end up at the same map twice in row, cause one is a backfill…
Or I get three push maps in a row…

Oh this is actually intentional, if you stay in the lobby you will swap between attack and defense. if you leave your more likely to jump lobbies.

yep this is a trade off, were you get your map more often more in a month. And not at all in some other.

While if theirs not a pool, your going to just almost never see specific maps. And that will get worse the larger the pool is.
