Skins are not "new content"

I usualy leave to evade this - doesn´t work.

You have to wait about 10 secounds, otherwise it pools you into the same pool.

Be it can pool you into another that’s running the same map. As I think it runs multiple lobbies with one map to save on loading to many resources at the same time.

Isn’t this about the same rate as OW1 at it’s prime?

for hero’s and maps yes, but were getting new game modes a lot faster.

And theirs multiple events going on at the same time. sometimes with multiple game modes in one season.

Plus were getting higher quality stuff like the halloween content, and the story mode stuff in season 6 in the same year.

Were as those would be separate years events in OW1.

With actual new core game modes being added in as well, within the same year.

Question of the year

Don’t fall for corporate lies…

One hero every other season works out as 3 heroes per year which is the same release cadence ow1 had between 2016 and 2020, we got 3 new heroes for the launch of ow2 which is a far cry from what we would have got if they continued updating ow1 instead of abandoning it for a Pve that will never come.

Ow2 is not giving us more content it is playing catch up after years of neglect.

As for game modes we still only have the same 4 key modes that the game had at launch, the arcade modes are not new to ow2 and I don’t count limited events because they are temporary reskins of existing modes with the sole purpose of being adverts for overpriced cosmetics, they are not content.

M8 with all do respect, were getting a lot more events and game modes in a single year then we ever have in a given year of OW1.

Every season has something new, and there isn’t gaps like the old Holiday specific seasonal events.

Those are just added bonuses to whatever is going in that season now.

Events only exist to sell skins which is fine but they are not meaningful content if they are for a limited time, ow2 is still in its first year what will be your defense if they do what ow1 did and just repeat them every year…

M8 I’m not going to lie I was optimistic for ow2 but I have lost all faith in the team after being led along like a puppy for 7 years defending this game. Odds in that blizz is only going to get greedier especially now that the game has seen a considerable drop in player count so defending them at this point is just asking to be let down.

Have not played the halloween pve event? Loverwatchs hanzo scatter pvp?

Starwatch, Pachimari, Olympys rising?

Were still getting that joke atalantis mode here soon to.

Those are game modes, with other stuff being permanently added to that game in between.

on top of that we are getting another event like this in season 5, then a new game mode called falsh point in 6, story mode stuff, and some single player stuff in hero mastery.

I played the junkensteins mode it was ok but repetitive because you could only use 4 characters, played it once on each then got bored and moved on when I realised it was exactly the same each time. The hanzo event was just tdm with an old ability as a gimmick ok but nothing to shout about.

Haven’t played starwatch due to burnout and Zelda, pachimari while fun was a reskinned bounty hunter mode (winter wonderland, also introduced in ow1) the Olympus mode was good but not very enjoyable to me as I don’t really like playing deathmatch it was an attempt at an arena shooter mode and could be something great if they actually balance properly for it. (Once again no faith in the Dev team)

So out of them only two where actually unique one was repetitive and the other was an unbalanced mess so that’s 3 new modes (including push) not really 4 years work is it.

No it was death match with a tag system, it was a popular mode in battle field games.

Yup, it was more or less an archive kinda thing. That’s what their made to be. Be it added options would be fun.

that’s why their something new every couple of months. Be it some stuff will return overtime.

It was kill confirmed from cod as well, I actually think someone made a version of it in the workshop a while ago and blizzard made there own version of it tbh pachimarchi was one I could actually see becoming a permanent mode, that would be something I guess. I still fail to see how these events are ‘more content than ever before’ though.

Nah the archive missions (rip) are much more enjoyable imo and they always had an all heroes mode the later ones also added some aspect of randomness like enemy placement, new voicelines and challenge modes which made them a lot more replayable.

This was not a thing, their were difficulty modes. And got remixed years latter with new enemy placement.

but randomness no, that was the hero missions that got canceled.

Events are content, just not very good content. Much like the new heroes and maps are also not good content. Blizzard just sucks at this “live service” thing.

There was a little bit of randomness specifically in retribution and maybe storm rising (didn’t play that one as much) it was mostly the timings of when each elite unit would appear and where on the map it would happen it was different each difficulty and all heroes seemed to have them appear more often. I remember playing retribution with a friend and we had an assassin and sniper as well as the regular troopers in the first room. On two separate times we played it. There was also the troopers spawning in different orders and coming through the roof at different times, it wasn’t massively randomised but was noticeable.

We’re not getting any of that in season 5 lol

No mode is permanently in arcade, not to mention arcade is a desolate wasteland and therefore redundant.

We’re being drip-fed unfinished content, or content finished in 20 minutes and never tested once, most of it designed to sell $20 skins

That’s not a good thing lol

Season 6 is a double wammy of a new support and a new QP/comp game mode in flash point. Which is at least three maps to keep it functional in the MM.

So it’s odd spaced out a season but we still getting content.

Never had an issue queing for an arcade game mode.

Unfished? Can’t say it’s missing anything. it’s designed to be a smaller events in between bigger updates like season 6 stuff.

Other projects that have the same goal. Maximize profits with as little expense as imaginable.

They promised that we’d be receiving a stream cycle of one hero, then one map for every season.
They’ve broken that cycle already and therefore that promise.
That’s not a good thing.

Coughs in PVE being very unfinished

And again season six is getting a new QP/comp game mode, which in it’s self is three maps. As in this is also a lot of programming and design work. Instead of something implemented into a mode they already have blue prints for.

Plus a support.

I think this situation is fine. As it’s still more content then if we got a single map in season five.

They broke the cycle because of a larger release soon after.

If it was just a single map delay that would raise eyebrows.

Besides the story mode, that’s canceled. As in will never be released. Outside of maybe a few piece meal talents being recycled into future events.

We were not given it, thus never given unfinished content.
