i dont see how its fair to let a silver player be boosted by a plat player.
and you can say its not boosting and its just you playing with a friend but when their career profile gives it away that they are a hard stuck silver and have never been able to even get out, kinda seems like your boosting someone who shouldnt be playing in games above their rank.
the sr gap should be lowered 1000sr is WAY to much it should be 500 across the board imo
I have literally seen bronze, silver, gold, and plat all in one game on several occasions. Itās kinda disgusting the skill gap the matchmaker will allow.
The ladder has a bunch of empty rungs. If youāre silver and literally the nearest neighbour above you online and actively queueing is plat, what shouldāt you have access to that in your match? Chance to take all their SR away honestly.
As far as Iām aware GM starts seasons at 3.9k, & by the time the leaderboard is even up, t500 starts at about 4.1k minimum. Unless I just havenāt checked & itās lower.
What is this 3.6k master placement? I placed 3,6XX, I donāt remember the exact number but it wasnāt 3,600 exactly. And furthermore what does a master have to do with diamonds grouping with t500 left & right (which Iāve not experienced at all)?
As soon as the leaderboard is up not everyone played the 25match+ to get the top500. (first week isnāt great etc etc.) So itās starts around 3.7k for each region but after a few days it gets back to the norm.
I played an early in the morning match in the latter half of the previous season. Enemy had like a top 36 tank or something, went by the name Bonecrusher if I remember correctly. I could be totally misremembering the number, maybe they were 436 for all I know but I digress.
One of the worst tanks Iād ever played with or against in upper ELO. Next match I played with/against maybe 3 or 4 t500 players & they were actually good, but itās almost like a spark in me that āfearedā the icon & what it meant was just completely snuffed out after my first encounter with the icon being that one tank.
There really isnāt a big difference between silvers and plats. I was 1700 when I started playing a year ago, and I topped almost 3kā¦ Even diamonds are the same as golds and plats. They still donāt communicate most of the time, they still use ults randomly. The difference between silvers and diamonds are that diamonds aim better, Genjis and Widows dominate, while under diamond they are free kills even for a Junkrat. Master and GM is where real Overwatch starts I think (no, Iām not even close to that level, and I wonāt be).
This would be fairā¦ but think about how miserable playing with Diamond anything would be as a low rank player. Itās not fun to play with someone thatās trying to micromanage you constantly and using the skill gap to excuse their behavior. I think thatās one of the reasons people donāt appreciate stacks with wide SR ranges. When you start losing the higher ranked player often starts belittling the people who are just playing at their skill level.
The skill difference between plat and silver is huge, especially mechanically. Yeah yeah theyāre both still bad comparatively to good masters and gm players but if thatās all you can think about youāre missing the point. Yes, they make some of the same mistakes, but Iām high gold low platinum and I can solo hard carry in silver and mid gold. The difference is huge, regardless if you consider either of them to be āgoodā or not. Its irrelevant.
