After the last patch, I’m experiencing extreme FPS drops – literary falling form 30 (that’s my standard FPS) to 8 or even less.
Needless to say that the game is completely unplayable (unless I’m playing Mercy, Symm or Lucio)
Is there something specific that might be causing this (like Steam or Discord)? I started completely turning off everything except the game (including the launcher), but the drops are still happening.
Is there anything that I can do to stop it?

Exact same thing is happening to me. Haven’t found a fix. Tried scan & repair, uninstalling & reinstall, and a couple other tips I read in other threads, but nothing has helped. Game ran fine before the Ashe patch, and now it’s unplayable.
In the same boat. Tried what I’ve can but nothing changes. Had to give up up comp due to just how unreliable things are now which is a bummer. It’s frustrating as hell to go from working fine to broken in a snap with no help in sight. Sadly I don’t think there’s going to be a fix for it.
Same here, frames drop to about 150-160 from 190 and if i record my games with obs frames drop to 70-100 all the time. It all started with the ashe patch. So frustrating as i recently joined a team and need to record my gameplay.
A lot of people (myself included) have been experiencing the same issue. Apparently, the drops happen when someone changes characters or a new area of a map loads.
Blizzard still hasn’t said anything about this. My hope is that they will try to fix it in the christmas patch.
