I hadn’t even logged in yet today. I tried to, but I kept getting errors. When the servers finally worked, I was suddenly placed into a comp game with no warning—just a message that a game had been found. I have a screenshot of this but can’t figure out how to attach it.
What’s even stranger is that I wasn’t queued for any game, yet the system thought I was in a comp queue. This seems like a server issue, not mine.
So why am I being punished for an error on your end, Blizzard—especially on drive weekend? It’s not exactly motivating to play comp when this happens.
I haven’t heard of this happening before, so it may be a new bug. I’ll keep an eye out for other mentions, but don’t see any in the forum so far.
If you received a penalty, then you left or disconnected from more than a few games. You can read more about the penalties here: Overwatch Technical Issues, SR Loss, and Leaver Penalties. Something to keep in mind is that Black Friday deals are still ongoing and Cyber Monday is coming up, which means a lot more shoppers are online in North America than usual — which can cause a huge impact on internet infrastructure. If you’re not playing on NA servers, then I would need more info to look into what might be causing more internet congestion in your area.
