Even if you look at it like a “remaster” of the original with improved graphics, with a $30 Dlc added to it… Most people pay upwards of $50 for remasters of older games, and OW will be 4 years old by the time OW2 is released… that’s an $80 bundle if you look at it that way… If you wanna drop the price down lower than your $60, you can say they offer a remaster and dlc for 40$? most blizzard expansions and dlc for WOW are $40 on their own, so do you expect them to put the effort into creating a new engine (which was needed for the PVE content), enhancing both the graphics and the audio, and not charge anything for it?

I agree. However, it’s a prototype so… it may be better in development in a years time. That’s what I’m holding out for

Agreed… Other people have the opinon that this is simply a DLC designed to make money.
More entitlement it seems. Might be a pattern among newer gamers.

Call of Duty map packs have been $60 dollars each for more than a decade. All Overwatch DLC has been free for 3-years, so they are well within their right to charge for OW2.
There’s no confirmed price, but honestly, with the amount of work, time and energy they’re putting into Overwatch 2, why would it be such a bad thing to put a price on it? They’re a business. Shouldn’t they make money off of their hard work?
Many of Destiny 2’s expansions cost money. Also, Destiny is purely a looter-shooter. Overwatch is a competitive game that will expand into being a looter-shooter.

The entitlement is real. Probably has 0 idea what it takes to develop such a game. If it’s not worth the money, you don’t have to buy it. Just don’t expect stuff for free.

i’m pretty sure Legion was the first xpac to cost $60… and that came with a free character boost if you pre-ordered, which was a $25(?) value. So you essentially got the game for $35.
I know Cataclysm cost me $40, but I’m not sure about MoP.
Either way, that is a fairly recent price hike.
I hate to say it, but the trend for major online games these days is to launch their multiplayer mode first as a “beta” then release the campaign when the game is available for purchase.
By that model, Blizzard has given us full game priced 3+ year long beta, and is now announcing the release of the actual game with no release date.

I mean people have a right to be pissed. Look at how poorly blizzcon went for overwatch supporters. They literally got a garbage trailer that was half baked. It literally reflects the 2019 year of overwatch in a nutshell with the quality of that panel.
I mean, I thought the trailer was pretty good. What is disappointing to me is that it’s a trailer for an expansion that sources say is a year off at least, and we got barely anything this year as well.

It’s absolutely disgusting. And as if things couldn’t be worse, I just found out that I also need to buy TLOU 2 and Elden Ring because those story modes won’t be added for free into Overwatch either!
Imagine having to buy a new game instead of it being arbitrarily patched into an old game. Just ridiculous. SMH.
