Seeing the bebop skins almost every game

Yep, it’s clear. We’re not getting anything past cosplay. And I’m pretty sure they will increase the price of collab skins while decreasing the price of non- collab skins. Have fun guys

The fact you don’t understand how f2p games work is hilarious to me

Considering those are the people that fund the game so you don’t have to pay a penny I would reconsider your insults lol. Thats how every f2p game works. A small % of players spend money which keeps the game afloat for everyone.

You can sit and cry all day about skins, fact is the people that buy them are the literal reason why you still get new heroes, maps and content updates.

So the next time you brag that you cost blizzard money, you actually havent. It’s just someone else has invested money into the game which has funded that content you are playing

Please explain how I as a player am not individually costing them money, without the other people buying skins offsetting it.

I don’t really care if the game lives or dies tbh, I have no respect for skin buyers and never will.

Not crying, I have money and could buy skins if I cared.

Sounds like a bunch of suckers, paying for me to play for free.

Lmao. I don’t owe anyone anything. I will gladly spend my own money if the game was actually in a decent state.

It is the model blizzard wanted to go with. if they don’t want more ppl to buy their game, that is their own problem.

Let those whales, whale.

Over time skins depreciate in value as well as care.

I can’t remember the last time I seen Witch Kirko or One Punch Doom.

It’s hot now by season 10 it will be forgotten

It’s your money, use it when you need it.

Do we? This season doesn’t even have a new map xDDDDDDDDDDDDD

If it stuff i like ill buy if not i wont

Because the vast majority of players dont ever spend any money. It’s not just you. Thats how f2p models work at a fundamental level. A small % of players do all the heavy lifting (usually referred to as whales) which keeps the game free for everyone else. This allows the game to get consistently updated which keeps people playing. You arent costing the devs money you just arent adding any either.

Actually we got all of that with previous system up until they decided to withhold stuff for this game

And “get new heroes” is only half true since you can’t access them immediately without paying

Regardless MS rewards exist so no need to pay for stuff anyway

To OP - I have a collab skin…doesn’t mean I paid for it

Context: I think this is the second time you can simply spend coins on the collab skins instead of real-world money.

If you view someone who has been saving up coins and pays nothing to Blizzard as a shill/whale, that’s your own error.

It’s also the first time the skins make different kill/streak confirmation sounds, and novelty drives purchases. For some, 1900 (earned for free) coins for one skin they like, for an IP they like isn’t even a dent in the coins they have.

Yes, the coin costs are inflated and no, I haven’t bought any, but things aren’t as simple as: oh I saw a skin, game’s going to hell in a handbasket.

Any takers on whether or not match maker takes into account whether you have or haven’t bought premium skins such as these during events and uses that information to distribute players in a way that potentially encourages more players to buy said skins?

Who else is there to buy it? Its free. Anyone who wants to play can do so. Changing the monetisation wont change peoples perception of the actual game. If people dont enjoy the gameplay the skins are irrelevant

Completely disagree. Skins often become more valuable with time. That is the core pillar of fomo

We saw that with pink mercy and people to this day still wanting it. We see that with the mythics and people who missed the first few want a way to get them

In a few years time, the OPM, the Bebop, leserrafim, mythic skins will be sought after

I love how you think you’re smart for hanging on semantics like this when I said nothing incorrect. Really the classic “internet person.”

Because we are getting 2 maps when the new mode comes out later in the year. Exactly the same they did with not releasing a map in season 5 and releasing 2 flashpoint maps in season 6

Which is why nobody owes anything to those who pays.

They stopped updating ow1 because it was a money sink where the devs were pouring in money for nothing in return.

You paid the $40-60 upfront and then got 2-3 yrs of free updates most of which was recycled. In ow2 you can pay or not and still get free updates all of which has been new

They’re changing that next season

still believe it was cause they werent making money and not because they could make so much more eh? the first game HAD mtx…

I think this is further proof the devs are currently experimenting ways to make skins have more perceived value to players.

If players take to skins having custom sounds etc I can see them putting more emphasis on that for future skins.

It’s really just all trial and error to see what players want. This goes for everything.

Mythic skins. We have seen multiple different formats for mythics over the year. Multiple customisation options. Tracers had 3 different evolutions of the same skin. Ana had 3 completely different models. Orisa and hanzo focused more on special effects rather than the skin itself

Weapon skins. So far we have only gotten hardlight skins which had sound fx but we know there are the los muertos ones which have special fire fx

Battle pass content. We already know next season they are using the last year of feedback to rework the battle pass.
