Save your game - Make these changes!

  1. Open up a “Classic” Overwatch.
5v5 blows, so do all of the new heroes… Give us a game mode of literally any point in Classic 6v6 and it’ll be better, and make it a competitive game mode. It could even be the final patch, that’d still be better than Overwatch 2.

  2. Bring back Game Masters
It’s blatantly obvious that the new, automatic ban system is a failure. The community is too fragile to wield such a tool responsibly, so there needs to be human intervention to assess reports. This includes actions taken for fraudulent reports, get the crybabies out of your game. The “Talkers” don’t ruin things, the creative, do not ruin things… Crybabies do.

  3. Revert all non-cheating related bans.
Fits in to the point number 2. You want your game to not suck? Bring back the wrongly banned players who have been banned for any of the following reasons
    Winning games
    Talking
    Advocating for 6v6
    Not wanting Overwatch 2
Not wanting needless representation and instead wanted focus on the actual gameplay
People have been banned PERMANENTLY for these reasons, they shouldn’t be. They’ve been banned under the guise of “Abusive Chat”. Revert all bans, and the truly idiotic will just get banned all over again eventually under the new, better, report and assessment system.

  4. Actually invest in your game.
Want your game to make you a lot of money? Make it enjoyable. you do this by investing resources into it. History has shown that people will pay for good games, they will give you money for your efforts, you need not even look outside of Blizzard for this, World of Warcraft has walked back MANY mistakes they made, and is flourishing because of it. Investing resources to make a game better always pays dividends long-term. FIRING PEOPLE IS NOT HOW YOU MAKE MONEY.

  5. Stop basing your popularity and concurrent “balancing” around streamers.
Streamers are the biggest crybabies of all. they stream because they crave attention, they, somehow, think that because they have “followers” that their opinion means more than others. It doesn’t. Stop clowning your business into thinking that it does. Look where it has led? It has becomes this current, absolute joke of a game.
Those that do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. So, learn from it.

  6. Rollback bad changes made to the system
Changes made at the behest of chronic complainers need to be rolled back. Leaving a Quick Play game should not result in a suspension from the game. Considering that the same game-mode is infested with “It’s Quick Play, who cares, if you want to tryhard go to Comp”, you need to pick your stance. You can not treat Quick Play as meaningful enough to force suspension upon a leave, whilst also having it be allowed to throw, costing others your team. The two ideals are contradictory. This change, was done due to, as always, the loud minority of complainers. Revert it.

Wow sounds like you got banned for being toxic and all the changes are based around that. Honestly just don’t use chat, I got suspended once, didn’t use it ever again and my account has been in good standing ever since.

I had an account suspended for Abusive Chat which was around 3 weeks in to Overwatch 2 for simply playing Wrecking Ball in Comp. (The “Meta” was heavily Ball counter. Sombra, for example).

I haven’t played since, until the recent Overwatch Classic. My account is still active. This is what you and your kind don’t understand, everything isn’t an extreme, or a reaction to something. Neutrality can be a super solid place to sit… You don’t need to be banned to want changed from a game. You don’t need to suck up to something because you enjoy it.

Crazy notions, right?

See, you say that, but, the state of the game kinda proves otherwise. It’s all downhill since you and your loud little friends took over. Denial is a scary place to live, friend. Just accept that you were wrong.
You literally sit on the Overwatch forums all day every day and yet somehow think that you’re the moral high-ground and neutral? You need to evaluate… Seriously.

The game is in a great place. The fact that you have an account that has been suspended proves that

We are not the one’s living in denial little buddy

Um, what? lol. What part of what I said are you struggling with? I never said your account IS suspended right now…and I can’t understand words? I used the words “has been.” You have an account that “has been” suspended, yes?

…Comprende senorita?

What? Isn’t that what gaming did to you? It told you to fit in or shut up… or rather, it MADE you shut up.

I mean, you’re welcome to your opinion.

It’s wrong, but you’re welcome to it.

No, it won’t be. Classic OW was never designed to be a full time game mode. It’s temporary for a reason, they’ll be exploring different periods of time during the meta with it.

No such thing as automatic bans. If you get banned, it’s because a GM actioned your account. This is something the GMs have stated time and time again.

No one has been permanently banned for winning games, advocating for 6v6 and not wanting Overwatch 2.

People have been banned for using profanity and being toxic, which have always been against Blizzard’s rules with regards to Overwatch since the original game launched in 2016. As for people not wanting representation. Most of those people turned out to be extremely toxic in how they behaved when they were pressured by anyone who didn’t like their views on the subject, so they likely got what they deserved.

They’ve been doing this, which is why Overwatch 2 is going to be 14 seasons deep in a few days. If it was a bad game, it would have already gone the way of other hero shooters that don’t succeed.

No they didn’t.

They don’t balance around streamers. At all. Whoever told you they did was lying to you.

Yes it should, leavers suck. Play the games you join.

Greetings from 2016.
It’s the game that started it all and went on until 2022.

Literally all the bad decisions around Overwatch 2, such as the push towards making the game a PvE title (because they wanted to relaunch Project Titan, the cancelled MMO that became Overwatch, through Overwatch), the massive content drought that Overwatch 1 got hammered with, the switch to 5v5 etc. That was all Jeff, that happened under Jeff’s watch.

Aaron Keller, for all his flaws, has done a great job with this game, at the cost of some decisions that have made people angry, like the cancellation of the hero mode. It pissed a lot of people off, but had Aaron and the team kept with Jeff’s plan, the multiplayer would have suffered immensely as a result, which is not something that Aaron felt we deserved.

Again, Classic OW was never designed to be a full time mode.

They specifically designed it to be a temporary mode that takes us to the fun (or frustrating) moments in Overwatch history. That’s what it’s doing. So the next time the OW Classic mode launches, will be during another time in the game’s history, when more heroes were available, and there was a different meta such as GOATS or Double Shield.

  1. I enjoy the new heroes and it doesn’t matter the format, it all feels the same.

  2. No. Just be a kind or cool person and you won’t ever get a ban notice.

  3. Cope.

  4. Game has been invested in.

  5. They don’t only listen to streamers. They listen to the entirety. Got faster on balance updates compared to OW1.

  6. Hard agree on this one. I hate the S9 changes still. I miss the 200 HP being the standard and then going from there.

Yes, coz he was weak and could not stand up enough towards the suits. The team was drained cause of OWL as well.

Again, they were HIS ideas. Not the suits, his ideas. The decisions made that sent Overwatch in the direction they did were things that Jeff and the team wanted to do. They literally admitted to this. That the team wanted to make Project Titan a reality, the MMO the suits cancelled, and decided to do so through Overwatch, by focusing on PvE and gradually adding more and more MMO elements into the game.

Jeff wasn’t weak and ‘didn’t stand up to the suits’, he had a vision for the game and he was acting on that vision, which led to him eventually leaving when it was obvious it wasn’t going to work, leaving Aaron Keller holding the bag.

Let’s call them what they are, outsourced employees with notepad open to see if a message contains naughty words.

I’ve said this many times, if Blizzard actually cared and respected your accounts, they’d implement measures to prevent players seeing toxicity, and only when all these measures were bypassed would they action the account, not the other way around.

  • Clientside messages (only the sender sees them) (can already be done with parental controls)
  • Blocking messages from being sent in the first place
  • “Mature” text filter users only being able to communicate with “mature” text filter
  • Some form of endorsement-level chat trust factor
  • Reports having actual message content being attached/reports being tied to a specific MESSAGE

Literally anything is better than the current system. You could manually put “****” and someone will report you.

The purpose of the text chat filter is nothing. Bypassing it or not, you can get actioned. Rules are ambiguous which is also super helpful as nobody needs to design something concrete and rather go based on their feelings.

He did not get the support he wanted for the game. The suits wanted what we have got now in terms of moitaztion. Aka the most standard predatory model imaginable. They wanted F2P too make as big of as a splash as possible. Even scammed tons of people with the watcher pack before the release. OW2 was the most transparent money grab in history and Activision excess cashed in one more time before Microsoft kicked them out and started to pull the plug on the whole game.

Depending on how D4 and WoW perform going forward Microsoft is looking to make blizzard another support studio for CoD. All this has already been said.

The ‘most predatory model imaginable’ is what we had, aka, loot boxes.

Blizzard made over $1 billion dollars from them alone in 3 years. That’s over $300 million a year. Blizzard was making bank from that, because of how they’re designed, to be extremely predatory, to play on and create addictions.

No scamming was done with the Watcher pack, those who paid for it got exactly what they paid for.

Microsoft has not ‘pulled the plug on the game’. We’ve gotten multiple seasons since Microsoft took over. We’re getting a new season in a few days time.

I don’t know where you’re getting your information from, but it’s wrong.

No No No No No, thats what disney would do. lets replace all loyal gamers and attract the woke 5 people as a new playerbase.

I feel like I’m in bizarro world when I read posts like this. There straight-up is not a higher quality PvP game than this one in existence.

It’s good BECAUSE:

The game evolved to address major issues (based on community feedback, btw)

The game is polished af and runs fantastically all the time, because they invested money in it.

They care about match quality enough to ban leavers and consistent bad actors (guessing you got banned for being terrible to people).

They don’t balance around streamers even if you think they do.

they say there is game masters but i think its was jsut the automated system as it always gave a generic script

This tells us all we need to know. Should have put this as your first point so most of us could skip the rest of this nonsense. I would bet very few people want penalties removed from QP. But you don’t care. You just want it for YOU. If you need to leave 20% of your games then you have a problem, not OW.

You probably didn’t even notice how bad it was before penalties because you were leaving every game anyway.
