Samito just went 54 eliminations 5 deaths 4 wins the rest losses in placements and placed 2300. How? Fair? I don’t think so at all
who are you talking about?
He’s a projectile DPS who plays for Triumph.
If he is in gold, he is gold.
He just needs to get good.
And no ones starts in master or higher.
think highest you can get with placement these days is plat.
Also it proves that even very good players cant carry anymore.
A team full of none team players will loose against a team with team players.
54 elims, big deal. Get that all the time.
My wife placed 3209 just last week on a new acct.
She has never been above low gold before.
Lmao.
I won all my placements on a fresh account and almost placed masters but samito is definitely better at this game than me. He can climb out of gold with ease because he’s a top 500 player.
Until people can stay on one role and not be forced to spread their time amongst every role in the game without people fighting over dps the ladder will never be truly competitive.
So he goes 4-6 in initial placements and you wonder why he placed gold? That’s a 40% winrate. The game looks at that and places him near the average because he won about half his games. If he tryharded and won all 10, he would have placed master.
And 54-5 is not unattainable for gold players. I remember getting 70+ elim games in gold, albeit infrequently.
Yeah 4-6 should place you around mid gold.
Also Samito has a history of soft throwing just to make those stupid “top 500 Hanzo smurfs in gold - you won’t believe what happened next” videos…
Who the hell is samito?
Anyway if he is higher ranked player he played qp in a way to be placed lower. Thats why he is gold.
No, not even close
It’s possible to win all 10 and place Bronze.
It’s possible to lose all 10 and place Diamond.
Placements (initial placements at least, assuming you’ve never done comp before) are all about your performance in-game and have little, if anything to do with wins and losses.
Its exactly opposite, initial placenents are based mostly on wins or lost games while next season placements are mostly based on performance. I have more than 7 accounts so i know what i am talking about.
actually the fact that you have 7 accounts doesn’t mean you know what you’re talking about at all, it only means that you need to find something other to do in life to fill your time
I do what i like so focus on your life , thank you. If i would have only one account i would have all hours there , this way are my hours just separated.
Again i have a lot experience with placing accounts. Initial placement works with qp mmr to some extent but result is highly affected by number of won or lost games. Performance based are next placements where it can help you to even skip whole rank if you overoperformed a lot before and in placement.
If that player was placed in gold he simply wanted to be placed lower. End of story. If he is some kind of top player he would be placed diamond + when tryharding.
just needs to get good? he’s a top 500 player and peaked top 1 lol
Sorry buddy that is completely untrue.
There’s even a thread here somewhere where the author presents a formula for the hidden gains and losses during first ever placements with a large enough sample size to be very close to the real thing and that one doesn’t even factor in performance - just wins and losses.
As for the post you replied to I believe that DongQuixote is even mentioned in that thread as he has several accounts - and one of them he did placed master (on first placements).
all I know is that I read conflicting stories about how it works all the time with the theory that performance having the most impact being the most common one.
at this point I’m not even sure the engineers who coded it know how it works. I don’t get why it’s a secret that seems to be more closely guarded than the formula for Coca-Cola
I can try to explain it more detailed when i come home if you want.
Not going to argue with you there - a lot of theories floating around when it comes to everything related to comp.
However if you are interested here’s the thread I talked about. It’s at leased based on some sort of “research”: Initial Competitive Skill Rating, Decrypted
I know his work and its good post but i cant say i agree with everything there.
