I think you underestimate the amount of work it would take to turn all Off-Tanks and Off-Heals into Main Tanks/Heals.

I have absolutely no clue how you would even try to rework Heroes like Roadhog, D.Va, Lucio or Brig to fit into 4/1/1 while still staying connected to the original design of the Hero.

They would have to rebuild all those heroes from scratch (and people usually HATE to have their favourite heroes reworked beyond recognition) and you would already p!ss off Tank and Support players enough by forcing them to solo Tank and Heal every single game.

That would literally be the point where a huge amount of Tank and Support Mains would either start to play DPS instead or quit the game all together.

P!ss!ng off Tank and Support players is simply NOT a clever way to fight the problem of Tank/Support shortage.

Either way, I think it would be better if we didn’t have DPS players who were recruited to their respective OWL teams for their aiming skill, to be flopping around with Tanks/Healers 90% of the time.

It wouldn’t be. RoleQueue would be optional for Quickplay.

What Quickplay would have instead if 3maximumDPS per team, and 2maximumHealers per team. But people would be able to switch roles freely, assuming the team hasn’t hit the maximum limit for that Role yet.

Only in the situation where you got 3DPS and 2Healers already would anybody be forced to go only 1 roles. Otherwise they would always have atleast 2 Role options.

Zarya requires just as much aim and tracking as many dps, in some cases actually better mechanical skill.
