Role Limits in Quick Play

This actually sucks, I want to play DPS but stuck as healer

I 100% love it. My latest 5 ~ 6 games where super intens. Best ever!

Expect a lot of this especially with the 10+ minute wait times that will be DPS queues.

I can’t see how this gains more players than it will lose.

We need the feature available in quick play that allows you to choose a role you’re in the mood for, every time you hit que. And will auto choose your selected roll upon auto rejoin, when you finish a game so you can continue without having to rechoose a role.

Example - select “quick play”
click - “que”
Then prompts and asks you which role you’d like to Que “Tank, Damage, Support”
If you stay in games, and allow auto rejoin to continue on your games it will continue picking your choice in role.
If you leave que and reque manually it will ask you which support you’d like again.

Otherwise if it’s a perma lock this entire season etc on me stuck on healer. I’m done… I don’t want to waste my time if i can’t practice for comp before heading to comp games.

This is the dumpster fire that is coming. Problem is out of 100 people you’re going have to have 50+ choosing DPS.

I can’t play role Q, I bought this game on the premise that you could switch to any character you want mid match. Now I can’t change my tactics based on whats going on, which was the entire premise behind this game. Quick Play is supposed to be for casual players, why on earth are you implementing this nonsense?

As a reminder, September 1st will have a Quick Play classic mode in the arcade for those who want to not be restricted by role.

Will it be on rotation or 24/7? If it’s on rotation then I’m out because this Role Queue thing is a mess. I don’t like choosing anything until I see the map.

TBH I don’t really mind hahaha I’m having the best QP matches I’ve ever had since game launch… so I’m fine if you don’t fix it. If we can avoid waiting until september 1st it would be awesome! lol

That’s a really good point. I didn’t think about how many times I’ve saved games from losing because I was able to do a 3rd tank, 3rd dps or a 4th healer cause the other players were lacking that much that we were able to odd ball a win. Now it’s played only the way they see fit. I think I’m going to drop this game like I did diablo 2, wow and now this? huh pitty…

Lets us keep this bles…ops bug :< why only sep 1 X_X

I wonder what percentage of the player base they will lose with this.

Hurry up and fix this. It really shouldn’t take that long. I just bought this game a few weeks ago and I’m trying to level up to 25 so that I can play ranked matches and I keep joining quickplay games where I don’t get to play the role I want to play.

But that just sounds like Blizzard taking info to put them where they think they should be instead of where people organically land, if anything people should play less and wait because of this.

Some people get low stats and massive value, others do really well with their presence alone, other games it just not possible to get high stats due to factors like your team not taking damage to heal, exc.

While I love 222, Blizzard has never been known to have a good MM system, ever, in any game.

Way less than how many will come back with “this” besides that the crappy normal mode will be aways avaliable on arcade so if someone quit the game will not be because the RQ.

Role queue is coming to quick play on September 1st. Until then they are testing role queue in comp for an abbreviated beta season.

I agree with this whole-heartedly. Put in the full implementation instead of this strangely botched “first come first serve” business; Role Queue on the PTR was some of the most fun I’ve had with this game in a long while! I’m very eager to finally see this through.

I highly doubt this will cause more people to join than quit. The people who want to play this game are already playing it.

I obviously don’t know how they will be calibrating the overall ladder, but for Overwatch, the win/loss ratio of each player generally contributes to their skill rating (its more complicated than that, but that is the key factor). What I am getting at is how whey look at the overall performance of the community and hopefully will be able to spread out the rank bubble a bit. Again, as a player I don’t have details to what they are looking for, but I do encourage the more that is played in this role queue beta season, the more likely we will have a better matchmaking experience when season 18 begins.
