Can we talk about the reporting system ? Its so unfair getting banned by a ai without any human being supervision its actions , alot of people get banned for false accusations and mass reports , commanderamber who got banned for being a woman! So basically she got into a game and when she started giving comms their teammate wrote in chat that she said the n word when she clearly didn’t , alot of people got banned and lost their money on this game just because of the unfair banning system…
i was also there when we lost commanderamber!
she had a pretty voice and it was too bad someone couldn’t accept women can be good at videogames. the false N word reports needs to stop.
I was banned and it took around 12 tickets for them to show me what I said. Some how saying perks were a waste of time is bannable.
Some perks are a waste of time.
Some…body once told me the perks are gonna roll me
I once said mar riv( i cant say the game name it triggers them ) would treat me like this next thing you know i got comms ban
There is nothing AI related about the report system right now as far as we know and all your examples are of false reports by people.
You can’t just call everything related to computers or systems AI. It devalues the term and makes it mean nothing.
Well im talking about what ive seen and what happend to me and to the people if you are gonna deny that this isnt ai than idk what to say
What is AI about people reporting you a lot?
For perspective I’m not saying what is happening to you is RIGHT… just that it’s not AI related.
Anyone ever thought about the whole approach of just serving the person that replies, a lawsuit court notice and seeing if they can actually get the court document served to said individual to appear in small claims court?
Just asking. I mean maybe blizzard would actually consider having to take a different approach to this by admitting they use a cheep chatbot to reply so they have to divulge in a public statement that said individual does not exist.
So what do you know about the report system to be able to say it isn’t AI?
Dude, what?
If you’re referring to the punishment, you agree to those when you play the game. No good lawyer is going to take this case. “Let’s sue a billion dollar company because some guy doesn’t like the punishment they got”
This is why collective claims still exist…
Effectively speaking. If you are filing small claims you can represent yourself and file the paperwork regardless in your district court.
once you file the lawsuit the court has you serve the individual their papers which if the person resides in another state. The sheriffs office of that county is forwarded the papers and their job is to go to their home or place of employment to serve them said papers.
If the person doesn’t exist or gave you a false name. The job of law enforcement is to respond back to the person that is asking them to serve the papers and informs them if said person exists. in which a person has to go back to the court and inform them that the said individual cannot be located or tracked down.
At most you’d be out the 70 dollars and additional state filing fees. Plus your money to the local law enforcement division that you have to pay to serve said papers.
I mean effectively we sued someone this way and settled out of court. Luckily we didn’t have to hire a private investigator. Since they did come forward. In our case is was a contractor scammer. which is really difficult to do. But it still got done and they were tracked down in their state.
So nothing says you cant do this either. If someone responds and is under an alias and makes communication with you. They are still under a legal obligation and present themselves as a person, which can infact be sued for missconduct or many other facets of the law.
If the person is real and shows up. sure it absolutely can be thrown out. but i mean its why we have a civil legal system in place. so it makes for civil litigation vs oldworld uncvil violence. Which is why the lawsuit system exists in the first place.
That every example they gave was of people reporting them, triggering well known thresholds, not of any sort of artificially created intelligence making any sort of decision or call on the content.
…That doesn’t prove that AI isn’t handling the report system… All you’re saying is that people are reporting them. You don’t know what’s happening with it once the report has been filed. You don’t know if it’s being taken care of by AI or real people
I think that’s a very different case then what’s happening here.
You’re trying to explain to someone’s mom that not every console is a Nintendo. Most people don’t understand what AI is and refer to anything involving a computer as AI.
People have tested and proven that all the reporting “system” is or at least PRIMARILY is a threshold meeting log. Once you go over a certain amount of reports, bam, action taken. That’s been tried again and again and the only “filter” on it is it cannot be the same people and it cannot be within the same game or over an extreme amount of time. This does not require AI, just scripts. Scripts are not AI in the sense that anything that touts itself as an AI system is nowadays. The closest to that that’s ever been is “enemy AI” for opponents in a video game that DO work on scripts but there was no true AI being deployed for consumer services at the time it was coined.
Now, what element do you think is AI or would even require AI in that reporting system?
Those are not the only two options. AI isn’t “anything that isn’t people”. AI is a term for a complicated system that makes judgments and takes actions based on learned data. This is just a bucket that dumps on you once it’s full and it’s only filters are certain requirements like not the same person and not the same game. It’s not making a call based on content as multiple threads on this forum can attest to.
I eventually got my mom to call it “playing video games” so I think I can make some progress.
Than why did people get banned by mass false accusations ? If there was a human supervision it wouldnt happen
The lack of a human review does not mean there is AI. Automation is not AI.
This is my point. You are using a term that does not mean what you think it means. AI is not a lack of human involvement. It is a complex technology.
