All of Lifeweaver’s lines (at least in English) are delivered in the exact same tone & cadence every time. He doesn’t sound like a real character, he sounds like a newbie voice actor cold-reading his lines.

How exactly are you envisioning the voice for LW to change? You want him to be more whimsical and cartoonish in his voice, raise his voice more?
I mean I feel like a smooth relaxed voice fits perfectly for the kind of character LW is.

Eh, the VA seems perfectly fine to me. The biggest issue with him (and all of the OW2 heroes for that matter) the sub-par writing and the painfully low quantity of lines and interactions.

Comes from a wealthy family, studied at Vishkar, developed Biolight, wanted to use it for good in the world, Vishkar wanted to monetize it just like they did with hardlight (which was also intended to be used for good by its creator), he fled the country, vishkar sends lawyers and more dangerous people after him.
He is not a terrorist, he is just on the run from one of the most powerful corporations, leaving him as wanted with a bounty in several countries.

People have been saying the dubbing lost quality ever since the game went F2P.
I remember some Mercy shippers making such a big fuss over the personality of the character being ruined 'cause apparently the new voicelines didn’t reflect her personality or something.
I don’t think the OW team would invest in re-recording voicelines some people take issue with… Plus, it’s always a risky move 'cause a lot of players like LW’s VA and we never know if the replacement will be better or worse.
Might as well leave it as it.

Exactly why I can’t watch anime, especially in their original language, it gives me a headache pretty fast 'cause it’s always so over-the-top and as someone who visited Japan, I can tell that no one speaks like characters do in Naruto or any other weeb anime.
I find this kind of hyperbolic dubbing off-putting, though I understand anime works in that fashion. I guess it’s just not for me (also why I find over-expressive characters in Overwatch a little too much - like Dva for instance).
To me Lifeweaver is fine (in English and French) and when it comes to Venture, the French VA is so fun ('cause the VA has the typical French Canadian accent).
They could also add skin to go along with the voice!
I think you’re oversimplifying this based on memory. It’s not that bad.
