Remove ALL Turrets

I play as Sym and sometimes Torb on occasion but the more I think about it the the more I feel that turrets should be eliminated and each hero should have an alternate secondary in their kit. It takes the skill away from that player. I even think Bastion is insanely OP with his “turret like” ability. Those three hero’s should be reworked. However I guess that defeats the purpose of Bastion. Maybe just remove him all together.

Considering the heavy handed nerfs they got, despite the turrets not really being an issue, they might as well remove the turrets now. They’re kinda useless now.

We should start removing heros too, as a matter of fact, uninstall its easier for everyone.

Let’s go all the way and turn every hero into a hitscan too while we are at it.

Take away all individuality and different playstyles so we can turn the game into Call of Duty: Cartoon Edition.

Actually lets just remove Overwatch at this point.

HUUUUH? Bastion’s hitbox is excessively large given his health, making him highly vulnerable to heroes like Tracer. In fact, most heroes can easily target Bastion and absolutely delete him in a matter of milliseconds when he’s not in turret form. And it doesn’t even last long and has a pretty big cooldown. Bastion is a C tier hero at max thanks to his turret form which can provide a little bit of pressure with the high damage output, but without that ability he would be an absolute throw pick.
Concerning turrets I just think they’re fine and should be untouched. If you can’t shoot a standing still turret that can die in less than a second that does damage equivalent to a water gun that’s honestly a skill issue.

Yeah let’s just remove every hero from the roster and only keep Soldier so we can all play a classic COD styled game.

Turrets are designed to dissuade high mobility characters from using certain paths without requiring a player present to enforce it. They have only ever been good in hyper specific scenarios (like Torb turret sitting on your ana to stop sombra hacks, or when you control the unmoving objective which is small enough for turrets to cover all of it) and low elos where perfect aim on 52 dps (Torb’s pre-nerf dmg) kills faster than the players. Nerfing them is a sign they still think League hasn’t been released yet and that balancing around gold is the right idea. but we have known since league, or maybe CS:GO that the best way to keep a online competitive game alive is to balance around the top, and literally tell the people who can’t survive the noob stomping abilities that the reason the ability feels good is because they are bad.

Unless tracer and sombra get nerfed, turrets are a necessary evil. Nothing more annoying than these 2 mosquitoes terrorizing the backlines with hypermobility and high damage. Turrets are the only thing that keeps them in check. Its not a skill issue, its a pest control issue.

Then why was torb’s range 40m and why is it still 30m? It makes not sense his turret has such a long range to “dissuade” flankers. Knock it down to 20m and give it 50 HP extra. Then it will be more about flankers.

And yes, I know it can also discourage pharah and echo with its range. But giving it such a long range just for them impacts everyone. Try taking on a turret as moira.

Moira is another reason I use to play Sym and Torb. Now they basically do nothing and Moria wins the trade because of her ability to do the truffle shuffle and do 100% of her dmg.

Made this suggestion a year ago. People just defaulted to saying I am too unskilled to kill a turret though because they have pea sized brains and miss the point.

Why are you alone against a turret as moira? i can think of three options, 1. you are a flanking moira, then it is fulfilling its goal, 2. they are a flanking torb: call for peel or vacate the area, its a 1v1 with a DPS, they have higher value spikes than you so you shouldn’t win the 1v1. 3. it is a teamfight and you are the only one looking at the turret. its a 225 hp 50 DPS, you are better served committing your damage into an actual elimination.

if it had that short of a range it wouldn’t be able to cover its self when being used to secure more open backlines. like junkertown. 40 meters isn’t a fall of range it is a complete cancellation on engagement. a 20 meter range would require people to stumble directly on top of it to generate any value. after all it has a turn speed that can be abused already by moving back and forth on the edge of its LOS or range

Only if they remove ults that are auto aim. Rework Cassidy, Soldier, and ashe’s ult they basically become turrets. Cassidy even comes with a damage mitigation buff during his ult.

OW had many ability slots which could encourage new and creative gameplay.

But the devs were somehow contaminated by the idea of aimbot, CC or huge hitbox, and thus filled those slots with something very trivial. Such things have restricted the gameplay even more than those typical FPS. Only the hypermobility contributed to the game imo even if it’s blamed so much.

I think a better solution to the turrets is to give them a duration timer,
instead of the turrets becoming drop and forget, if a turret is only going to be placed for a set duration or destroyed which ever happens first.
it make their use more fluid, and deployed only during a push or moment of pressure.

imagine if turrets only had a 10 second lifetime how they would be deployed to assist in a push instead of just dumping on the payload.

there are already some that play Torb and Sym aggressively relying more on their primary weapons, only dumping turrets when it’s not going well to distract and remove some pressure. All honesty I find a Front lining Torb bouncing in my face alt firing to delete a tank in short order more infuriating than his turret ever is.

Turret dmg on torb at 40dps still does its job of providing unavoidable chip damage into small targets or every mobile targets. It doesn’t take any effort for Tracer to be very thin. It takes no thought process either.

Its because majority of the player hate dying, wether its from a turret or not they will find a justification as to why the X hero is annoying!

This is the only game i saw where a hero is simultaneously skillfull and no skill at the same time according to this community!

How can you even complain about the torb turret, its literally a stationary hero with low dps that broadcasts its location with loud nosies and a brite laser. Like if that is too much for you then, maybe practice more.

They should ban everyone who wins for cheating and who loses for throwing the match.

And play long range heroes that can instantly snap on to it rather than playing short range heroes that it counter.
