I feel like the ruinous nerfs to Mei make it really difficult to counter a Reinhardt if your tanks cannot do it.
I still think and say that if Sig’s rock pushed Rein backwards would be a very nice thing. Like the shield ups, tanks the rock (no damage) but still got knocked back a few meters.

echo right now does really well against rein or his barrier.Reaper has always been good.Nothing will replace meis effectiveness though, the wall is still good if you can follow up.
Hanzo is half decent but echo is better but hanzo can do stuff if enemy hitscans are good and take echo down.
Sym isn’t allowed to so that means you have to have a hitscan dps barrier breaker only way to have one without triggering Rein main baby rage
I find that Echo can be problematic into strong hitscan or a close clustered team (she is probably the best option available, though) and Reaper has a hard time with any team not too stupid to run McCree against him.

Yeah, but then I can actually win on DPS when my tanks are braindead and pick Orisa.
I feel that Reinhardt is fine, but WInston cant really survive in the current spam+echo meta. Also Orisa can’t survive as the solo shieldtank. (Happens because some people living in the 2018s think they are supposed to pair hog with orisa).
Sigma is in a good place currently.
Id argue that there is almost too MUCH damage currently, and doubleshield is stronger than other options precisely because of it.
You can still win on Orisa… Going Rein isn’t an insta win
Orisa into Rein without Rein or Sigma is basically hopeless.

That is an interesting take, one that I’m pretty sure I agree with for the most part. Though, it’s a certain type of damage that’s the issue. That type being high sustain damage.
Now, not many heroes can achieve this, mostly just 4 heroes in particular. McCree, Ashe, Tracer, and Echo.
Rein has the highest health shield and it isn’t stationary, which isn’t necessarily bad but it helps a lot with protecting your the from all this damage. Now with Sigma making a comeback, we get more protection with Double Shield (triple shield with Brig).

I have, and I have won with it.
I mean, it’s not impossible, but it’s really easy to shred Orisa’s barrier. You kind of need the other team to pick extremely poor shield breaking DPS.
It IS gimping yourself though, because blocking shatters becomes that much more difficult. Just because you can win, doesn’t mean you aren’t handicapping yourself. It just means you are better than the opponent by a wide margin.

Sure, but it isn’t impossible. A lot of people see the meta and think that’s the only viable way to play, when in reality other comps can work
You can always run a junk rat or even have dps that can turn the Reins attention away from shielding damage from your team to give you an opening. Once the shield goes up, from behind he becomes quite the easy target.
A sym isnt bad either but she’ll need heavy support and coordination.
It’s pretty close. I’ve lost every single game tonight with Orisa. She is horrible.
