That’s just it. It’s a feature console wants. They can opt out, pc can’t. Tho I assume most console players who wanted cross play was to play with the other consoles.
I’ve always wanted to play with everyone because I have friends on all platforms. But now that I can, they’re changing how I can play it and it feels terrible. Why bother adding PC/console crossplay if you’re gonna make console players so bad nobody will want to play with them? At that point, don’t even get our hopes up and make it console crossplay only
Bad implementation is bad.
Guess it’s sucks for both sides and hopefully they make changes. Pc doesn’t get a choice, and console loses aim assist. At least consoles should be able to play with other consoles without issues, which should be nice.
It’s gonna be awesome to play with my numerous PS4 friends. I just… Kinda want to enjoy playing with all my friends. And it seems like my options are enjoy playing with some friends and not enjoy playing with others. All while PC players don’t get to opt out of having console players who will drop lower and lower in MMR by no fault of their own
Sure.
Let’s give the cheaters something to hide behind.
Aim assist…
wait I thought u had pc tho? i played on pc with u the other day with berkut i think
Agreed. Let’s hope from all the negative feedback they make changes. I’m sure there is time, since beta isn’t even out yet.
I think the main reason is because of ppl can hook up a K&M on a console and still benefit from the auto aim as well.
I have it, and I hate playing on it because all I have is a laptop that can barely run it on low settings. That’s why I left, I wasn’t having fun playing a barely functioning game on unfamiliar controls. I was so excited when this announcement first came out, only to find that I’d still have a worse time if I wanted to play with you guys. I just want to play Quickplay with my friends and have it be a playable experience like I always have
Your choice, your burden to bear my guy.
You can switch to PC, or use MNK on console or use configs that allow you to still perform well with her.
This game is not about “pleasing” the players that chose to restrict themselves to 1 hero or 2 max. Its about switching to counter and Aim assist, the way OW works is either too much help or disrupting (since it can stick to entities like turrets etc).
I get this, and as much as that sucks, I still don’t think it’s worth hurting a majority of players over it.
I want to play with my friends and I want them to have a good time. If they’re going to have a frustrating experience playing with crippled controls or playing heroes they don’t enjoy just to keep up, it’s going to be harder to convince them.
Plus it’s only casual modes, comp is entirely untouched by this for PC players
Like no, XIM isn’t enjoyable to play against… But it literally does not matter when all you want out of the game is to enjoy it with your PC friends
I kinda agree, but then PC players should also have an option to opt out from crossplay imo.
They didn’t stop PC players from playing with console players when PC has way, way more hackers. They didn’t punish the entire pc playerbase for a minority of users.
Same should be true of console
I want this too, but then so many PC players would opt out that’d be an issue all its own. So I almost wish they just left PC out of this because it’s gonna hurt playing together with them no matter what route they’ve considered taking.
And this is why we need native kb/m on console.
How about we crack the hell down on XIM and let consoles be freaking CONSOLES
I don’t want to relearn every game with PC controls, that’s why I don’t play on my PC. Also the fact that it’s not made for gaming but y’know
How about we let people use the inputs that the game was built around? Should console really be defined as a second rate experience?
Should we force players to give up playing how they’ve played for 5 years and learn entirely different controls made for a platform they don’t even use?
You retain the option to use a subpar input, just as you can on pc. But to answer the question, yes, and we should have done it years ago.
