How am i ranking down when going 5-1 and going 40-2 each game??? My k/d is over 15 on every hero so far???

Oh boy no they didn’t.
No, Overwatch 2 still involves performance. It is LITERALLY THE SAME SYSTEM as OW1, just with a new HUD obfuscating your per-game SR change.

Well then they’re having one on in that interview, because the irregularities amd variances people experience in the outcomes of their 5’s-or-15’s would STRONGLY imply there’s more math than “W/L, Y/N?”
As stated i have a near 15 kd ratio on every hero or better im gm on both other roles and have hit gm on tank in the past

Yes i never ranked down after winning much more then losing i went 10 and 4 total and ranked down 5 and 3 at first then 5 and 1
all i can say is get ready for at least 2 more deranks if you lose even 1 game. Happened to me on tank at somepoint.
Ranked is RNG to a degree. Your rank is influenced by the MM and how teams are created. Not how they perform. So if you won 5 games that you are supposed to win (your team had the better players MMR wise), but then you lost the one game you were also supposed to win, it will bring you down a lot.

Nope. It only matters if you win or lose and not if you had 3 kills and 14 deaths that game.
People say it’s only W/L but they place people high quickly with their anti smurf stuff
Your first mistake is actually believing what they say.
I’m not contradicting…your performance doesn’t matter…but based on mmr/sr blizz still makes predictions on how matches will go and how much you earn is affected by that
If your team has a higher SR then other team the game will give you less points than if it was other way around

I’ve always been under the impression your previous rank up/down has bearing on the latest rank change you get. I don’t know how far back in your record it looks. If you go 3-15, then 5-3 and 5-1, your win/loss ratio is still negative, and can still result in a rank down.
Pure speculation of course. I don’t think its a stretch to say their rank up system sucks though, and is not nearly as transparent it needs to be. It should adjust after each game, that is so simple to me, I can’t understand why Blizz has it the way it is.
