I think Ram is an interesting character with a cause that in itself is sympathetic, but he is not. He is evil.
For me the biggest indicator of him being legitimately evil, not just incredibly controversial, is if he would coexist with humans who don’t hate omnics since he claims to want peace for his kind. We know there are humans who love omnics, but Ramattra doesn’t seem to care
We’ve seen him speak with Doom, but we don’t know if he plans to stab Doom in the back. He says “mercy is for the merciful” but indiscriminately attacks citizens in large cities regardless of how they feel about omnics. He just wants genocide, I don’t think he’ll see a redemption arc. Still can’t wait to see more of him though, he’s fascinating

well i could argue he doesn´t want to coexist because he don´t trust humans. As he said, the omnics the exist now are the only ones, there´s no such thing as more omnic being born. Each and every omnic that dies during the attempt to coexist is a great loss for ramattra, thus why i think that for him it is not doable
I think we will, he will find out that mondatta was killed by talon orders and he will turn against doomfist

That is one thing that annoys me about him. He would have been interesting character if it was all about protecting his race but the thing is that he has been already established as an extremist anyway.
Well, i like this idea where Zen is more like Martin Luther King and Ramattra is like Malcom X

Stories are still being written bro

Lets take a bet that he ends up just being exploited by doomfist.
Also I still have issues with his motivations considering he wants to preserve his people but then leads them into war to potentially lose even more?
He’s so evil he never washes his hands after going to the bathroom

I think he has some good nuance to him. At the moment he seems very extremist but we have seen that he has been patient and that this is just the boiling over point. It doesn’t look like he just wants to “kill all humans”, but at the same time he knows his kind is nearing extinction and constantly victimized for Anubis’s plot so patience is no longer an option in his eyes
Of course, this path he has chosen so far has injured many innocent folks and as far as we can tell (from our side since we only get half the story), they have seem purposeless outside of creating shock amongst the masses
I feel like Doom will stab him in the back - probably after we do the Omnic-focused PVE campaign and move to a future “Talon focused” one
Hmm, that sounds like an interesting direction too - wonder how they will address it

So, when Doomfist is Apocalypse, Ram is Magneto?
The premise of OW2’s story is that Null Sector has declared a world war. I don’t see any way that Ramattra can be considered “morally grey.”

Something tells me people would call him daddy and ask him for punishment. He’d go in with full force.
That evil enough?
An extremist at their finest
really? I do not think so. Like Zenyatta, Modatta has a completely different path to Ramattra. Both Tekhartha Brothers want/wanted balance and peace with humans. “Humans. Machines. We are all one within the Irsis” opened Mondatta’s speech in London.
Ramattra doesn’t want that, he wants the complete annihilation of mankind. And Widow’s assassination on Mondatta even suits him because it shows that there can be no togetherness between Humans and Omnics.
What could play more of a role is the goal of Doomfist. He wants mankind to gain strength through war and conflict. But what does he want to strengthen if there is nothing left to strengthen?
Talon and Null Sector will inevitably clash. Eventually a point will be reached where Talon will turn against Null Sector and even try to ally with Overwatch to save humanity from complete annihilation.
@OP
this thread should be in Story and not General ^^

Yeah that’s kinda sad cuz I love that line and wish he actually practiced it himself
If he simply did that he’d be my favourite character in lore already

You can tell he is evil from the sinister music in his trailer.

I think they either
a) ignore it
b) make him mad tracer didnt took bullet for him
c) worse case scenario… change a lore of this event.

So far he’s been invading cities with robots (are they omnics?) but to attack it almost indiscriminately, without a discernable purpose. I’m not sure what they’re attacking. I guess I would call that an evil act. It’s hard to say if he’s justified in declaring war and attacking people even if he/we believe that the discriminatory acts upon the Omnics are wrong. It’s rough to say without more story or context but even if we had the context, is that the means justifiable?
A big chunky metal guy executing a (female) angel in cold blood doesn’t exactly leave any room for imagination on his evil ← → good scale. And in-lore, one has to employ exceptionally high skill level of mental gymnastics to make his actions look even remotely justified.

i really hope theyre going to frame his actions as evil.
not only is he an extremist, but both his trailer and the newest update vid on youtube make him sound more like a white nationalist talking about “losing their race” and stuff.
i dont like the thought of that being framed as anything positive. especially if Doomfist backstabs him, that would look really bad.
i am aware that this is my interpretation, and you could easily interpret it in different ways, too. but his whole character is inherently political, one way or another. and you have to be very careful with that.
