Quit Overwatch | Mental Health

No, as I said before.

This game is oftentimes detrimental to people’s mental health IMO. Nobody here has to have a “history” of mental health issues to find a broken system designed by “Whale-Baiting” psychology frustrating.

You’re obviously dealing with issues of your own, perhaps find remedy to your own before recommending others “professional help”. Gas-lighting the community won’t help anyone here.

This is actually the first realistic and non-neurotic comment i’ve seen on this thread

This seems like OP is trying to convince itself hardly to leave the game.

If you just wanna leave it so badly (i mean, we all have some sort of responsabilities in life, i get it) just stop trying to overly-convince yourself of it and start doing something else. IDC if you replace it with another game or another cool activity, but just stop overfocusing on it and just remember the good moments you had. Love is easier to leave than hate.

Nah, not trying to convince myself to leave the game I already quit until there’s a fix (maybe s4). I actively play Apex Legends so I’ll be fine off here until then. Yes I’m frustrated but reading posts not only on these forums but all over reddit and every other site, the majority is pissed about the game so I offer some advice.

Take care of yourself, this game isn’t that great and there are other things to do as you said.

Remember: this game was pulled out of the dumspter (Titan).

So, for all of us who play it, it’s tantamount to eating out of a dumpster.

Makes you think all the dogcrap we eat that they feed us through this game.

Also remember:

NEARLY EVERYONE WHO CREATED THIS GAME HAS LEFT THE COMPANY - MOST NOTABLY AFTER THE SH*T WENT DOWN FROM THE LAWSUITS.

THIS GAME IS CAUSTIC.

That is a fascinating story, though I still enjoy playing the game every now and then in my spare time.

Oh, that’s nice. Eventually, you will hear yourself saying “I hate this game” if you play it long enough.

Oh, I definetely will we quit the game at one point. And I most definetely won’t be coming to these forums to talk about my emotions towards the game!

This game will rob you of your humanity, make you start hating people and crush any sense of empathy left in you through its toxic players and its infamous MMR system. Give it time, it will happen if you play it long enough.

The matchmaker devs can never, EVER have a real feeling for what it’s like to try to rank up in their garbage system because they know exactly how it works and so they can play in exactly the way the matchmaker wants them to in order to rank up. When a win or loss streak happens, they know exactly why it’s happening (it’s not by chance, 95% of the time).

That’s why they’ll never why everyone thinks it’s so bad.

Wow, yeah that guy summed me up in like 2 mins. Thanks for that.

Agreed, been playing since OW1 beta. Comp in this game used to be fun, I’m diamond support but will get matched with gold 5 tanks and dps now, what the hell happened to the matchmaking in this game? I guess Blizzard doesn’t care as long as they make money off skins, after all that is the end goal. Arcade and mystery heroes is the only sense of enjoyment I get out of this game now. Thinking about just selling my account and moving on to a different game where I can at least just get matched with people at the same skill level.

Almost any game will make you miserable if you play too much. I don’t know how the streamers do it, but any normal person should take breaks every few months. There really is no point in playing the same game every day or week unless you aim to be at the top, even then you need to cleanse your psyche every now and then.

100% agreed. The matchmaking in this game is actually bad for peoples mental health.

  • It’s bad for the players because it’s unfullfilling
  • It’s bad for the developers because they have countless people talking about how they’re garbage
  • It’s bad for the gaming community because it fosters toxicity
  • It’s bad for the business because it’s turning so many people away they can’t even fund PVE

At what point does the director say “Enough is enough, no more fake matchmaking it doesn’t work and nobody likes it”

Yeah, it literally bums me down more than it relaxes me these days. Quit… or play to not care and smurf at lower elo

When player counts go down

I would suggest playing a fun game like D4.

And your own personal experience doesn’t represent the majority of the community either. Let the masses decide. Go to Metacritic and you’ll find the following:

  • Overwatch 1 has a Metascore of 91 and User Score of 6.4
  • Overwatch 2 has a Metascore of 79 and User Score of 1.4

Looks to me that at least from the sampling they have, OW2 is not as good to critics, and a total flop to players.

Ah yes. The 3000 people that reviewed it on Metacritic are “the masses”…

That being said, recent events have clearly put a bad taste in our mouths. Overwatch is still an amazing game though with huge potential. Unfortunately, it’s going to be hard to reach that full potential at this point.

So you’re invalidating others’ opinions because they don’t align with yours?

If that’s the case, then every review of video games, movies, music, even elections polls should be ignored because there exist at least 1 person for each that disagrees with those reviews.

For sure this is a good game for many people but when forums and reviews are largely negative, it’s fair to assume that most people think it sucks.
