Queue times arenât amazing, so Iâm making the best out of it.
Rather than being glued to my desk, or cranking up the volume to annoy my Fiance. Iâm trying out is using an Android app called SoundWire.
And routing the Windows audio to my Android phone, with some bluetooth headphones.
Between games I just switch to bluetooth headphones, watch stuff on my phone, or audiobooks and clean up the apartment.
Then the Overwatch sounds kick in when the map loads, and I switch back to wired headphones.
Match gm players with lower players: this is the worst idea I have ever seen. You wouldnât know but the skill difference in a 200 sr gap in high ranks is enormous (also the matchmaker is already doing this rofl). You canât possibly expect players to wait 20 minutes in queue just to get teammates who are much worse than they are.
Give dps players less sr: ??? how do you even come up with that lmao. Completely just unfair for an entire role who already has to deal with bs and I have no idea how thats supposed to help queue times.
Tank/Healer queues lessen dps queues: thatsâŚnot how queue times work. The matchmaker âtriesâ to find a game that is as fair of possible with 12 players, 2 from each role. There arenât any set queue times so you really canât decrease them.
Fix the meta: so you want to decrease the power of other roles to make dps more powerful??? to decrease dps queue times???
Randomized sequential pick: no. players want control over what theyre playing when they queue.
Not ideal in the long run, but it would work really quickly.
Pretty much the only way to solve the issue of High demand, with limited Supply, is either long waits, or making it harder to get. Raw simple basic economics should make that blindly obvious.
It creates more average Tanks/Healers, where a slice of Diamonds will fall into Gold+Plat. However it basically provides a useful distraction from Diamond-to-GM, instead of staring at a countdown timer.
??? we arenât talking about a product here, weâre talking about waiting to play a video game. First of all donât even bring supply and demand into this, sr is a unlimited resource so âbasics of economicsâ donât apply. Second of all giving away people fewer rewards to play the more fun part of a video game isnât going to deter them from having fun in the video game.
If people thought playing tank or healer was a âuseful distractionâ we wouldnât have this problem.
And I donât have any hopes for ways to meaningfully increase the amount of Healers/Tanks in GM.
Short of giving the a few extra SR for wins.
And even that would be weak.
So you are mostly dealing with a high demand, and an inflexible supply.
