PLEASE Nerf brig. I just can't stand her existing

Hello there, as many of you well know there are many posts like these.
But, let’s talk.
BRIG IS NOT OP.

Barrier

Her shield is only in the game because she is a melee range hero, and it is not op to have a shield and have melee range.

weakness: She can be killed with ease by shooting at the 250 hp barrier and then shooting brig, as she cannot defend herself in anyway if her barrier is down and there is sufficient distance between her and her attacker.

Repair pack

Simply put, it is not very powerful due to the heal over time that it dose, and there is a long CD.

weakness: She cannot out heal most attacks on her allies without said allie moving to safety. In addition, if she uses her repair packs up during a heavy fire fight, she will have no way other than charging into the enemy to heal her team (which would make her an easy target if focused by 1-2 enemies).

Wipshot

Brig’s wipshot is far from OP. It is like lucio’s right click, but unlike lucio who heals his team constantly, brig typically needs to use wipsht for personal defence and to help heal her team.

weakness: It has a relatively small hit box, and is rarely used as a boop ability, but rather to heal brig’s team.

Stun

The ability that people complain about the most. I must admit, it is a little OP in that no other healer has a stun ability— and that is precisely what makes Brig special. For example, zenyatta has an ability that puts an orb that makes enemies take 130% damage. IS THAT NOT OP AND BROKEN? And yes, I get the argument that oh, but brig has a BoOp AnD a StUN… Oh No…NEEEEEEERRF!!! But lets be real, there are other heroes that have more than 1 good ability, like Mei for example, she can put up a wall to stop a push or block and ult and she has the ability to survive any ult herself by pressing shift.
note: Overwatch is overwatch because there are different heroes with different abilitys that do cool stuff.

weakness: almost no brig hater will admit this oppressive weakness,BRIG CAN’T USE STUN WITHOUT A SHIELD. So, logically, if you shoot the shield, she can’t use it to protect herself or to stun. AND,! yes, there is an ‘and’. AND, she needs to be close to the stun target to use stun on them.

Rally

A mighty ability indeed, but it has a great many drawbacks. Rally Is only useful to brig’s allies if they are close to her, so an uncoordinated team may not get brig’s ult armor. Rally is also a relatively short duration ult, as most of the ult’s life time is building up the armor, which if there is not yet enough when attacked, one might find themselves watching the kill cam or spectating a teammate. The speed boost in brig’s rally is both good and bad, as it provides a way to rush into the enemy, but once at the enemy, brig rally will either be no match for the enemy’s damage, or it will run out and brig and her allies won’t be able to run out like they ran in.
summery/weakness: brig’s rally provides a false sense of security, which may led to some 1v6 type moves. It also doesn’t provide burst healing like many other healers’ ults.

Inspire

Moria and reaper have this. end of story.

that’s not helping your case, people aren’t that fond of moiras and reapers either.

Just because other heroes have something doesn’t make it balanced

(Though I’m not saying inspire is unbalanced)

Damn. I should have put more work into that last sentence… :frowning:

Very well played with that thread title, you got me.

But yes, I agree with you Brig is fine.

What’s your opinion on rally and what is its weakness?

I’ll put that in

I’d be fine with her keeping the self heal buff she got if her shield broke after successfully shieldbashing someone
Also make shield bash damage 30 to make up for it

This way flankers can still outplay her without her hiding behind her little shield while she waits to heal back up and it puts more thought into using the ability

disagreed, I think her shield should take major damge, but should not break.

If not damaged it should still have some kind of drawback but I can’t really think of anything right now.

Maybe disabling inspire for herself for 2 seconds?

This was a really good read! :relaxed:

Hmm… what for though, that just seems like a random nerf that doesn’t effect much in the way that you want it to. remember that inspire takes a few seconds to run it’s coarse

I’m looking to give people a window of opportunity to outplay once you’ve been shield bashed, it never really feels good to be shield bashed out of an ability in a 1v1 just for her to be able to shield and heal back to almost full

Ah. Yes I get that, but I think there are better things to compensate.

25hp = End of the civilization as we know it.

Maybe a very small internal cooldown between shield bash and whip shot so you can’t instantly throw all your abilities into someones face, this would help out flankers a ton who most of are struggling right now, let me know what you think

When I saw the words “Brigitte” and “HP Buff” in that patch I had severe vietnam flashbacks

Alot of skill and playing brig is combos and heavily relying on Brig’s kit
