Just please consult someone that actually plays the hero. Or just actually listen to the feedback being sent your way by borderline every single doom player and all the people playing against the hero.
It’s very simple:
Put power into the rest of his abilities
Stop buffing only punch
Move away from the empowered punch gimmick
The recent slam change has been the most tone deaf, idiotic change I’ve ever seen to a character before.
You’ve basically said: “Yea we made doom’s rocket punch more consistent on the niche cases where it would interact with geometry awkwardly with the 45 degree angle, so now we’re just going to butcher his slam”
???
You guys are spitting on your playerbase. You are doing, the direct opposite of the constant stream of feedback being provided to you. It’s ridiculous.
Punch botting isn’t fun for either side. It’s the most braindead way to play doom so it isn’t fun for the doom players, and no one enjoys getting punch spammed and stun locked for a kill. But quite literally, that’s the ONLY way to secure kills with the hero because… you’ve improved nothing.
Slam has only gotten objectively worse since the beta. And you have done zero changes to his hand cannon. What’s the point?
What’s the goal? Turn a clear multi-dimensional hero, into a one dimensional bot for no reason? This achieves nothing. You make the game miserable for people going against him and you make the game miserable for his players. You are ACTIVELY making the game worse when it comes to doomfist, and there’s no excuse for it.
How we go from dps doom where you had rollout playstyle, simple slam uppercut combo playstyle, punch botting if need be, all these different ways of playing and then we get to tank doom and it’s just “teehee punch” because slam is cosmetic and so is his primary fire like???
He is toxic for the game so the worse he is the better. 3 second cooldown CC on a mobile tank is the stupidest **** I’ve seen in game design practically ever.
That’s literally the entire point of my post… you wouldn’t be getting spam punched so often if they MOVED AWAY from forcing rocket punch to be his best ability.
The only reason you feel it so often is because doom players don’t have a choice. I see now how easily blizzard can miss the point, when someone like you missed the point and I literally explained it to you in the post.
He also doesn’t have a 3 second cooldown by the way.
Oh I have, but this is idiotic on a level of like “We gave a hero a QoL buff, and now we’re going to butcher them because of it, whilst actively ignoring all feedback received on this specific hero for the span of 7 years now”
Yeah, tank kinda pushed Doom into a really weird space. Mei as a tank would have actually made tons of sense, but they chose Doom instead, which still confuses me. Mei is basically an off-tank
I know a ton of people are going to say “we hate Doomfist and it’s better when he’s not good for the game” and I understand all that talk about Doomfist being mildly insufferable for a ton of people, but like, Doomfist seriously requires a full team of devs dedicated to fixing his bugs that increases consistently.
But the recent slam change for his distance is absurdly incoherent with what he should be able to do.
But hey, this patch is entirely sus because they really have no idea what they’re doing and it’s not just Doomfist. They just can figure out that the Doomfist players want the hero to be fluid, but they keep ruining its momentum and fluidity to a non-return point.
A good thing about MR to come out of this is that they have so many brawler tanks that have similar Doomfist playstyle that they genuinely have to overlook their own tanks potentially and realise how absurd the changes they put to tanks is not helping at all.
Magik is basically DPS doom. For better AND for worse.
Combo abilities together, uppercut ability, gain shields from damaging people (although with magik it’s shield from ALL sources of damage not just abilities).
She comes with all the same problems too. Inconsistent hit reg on her E, hilariously easy to whif. Combo can very easily be out healed and honestly just doesn’t have the mobility / survivability to function well at the range she has.
It’s fun though. I’m having 10x more fun playing magik now than with tank doom because this character is simply not the character I fell in love with during OW1. He’s almost unrecognizable because they’ve just butchered and removed what MADE him fun and unique.
Is that Magik’s dash thing?, MR has third-person view perspective problem, you have to aim right rather than left. Left will miss on your crosshair, right usually won’t. This applies to a ton of brawl abilities currently, I hope they fix this fast enough.
oh I aim to the right on everything, I’m pretty sure her dash is just janky. I’ve also had times where the dash will be right up on someone and like the dash ends a pixel right before their position and it doesn’t connect. It’s like it has no extended forward hitbox, it’s JUST on magik and that’s it.
Which is a bit silly considering… you’re swinging a sword, which should extend said hitbox.
Well OW team are known for their idiotic balancing from the beginning. One of the worst team. If not for music & art team. This game would be in grave now.
