Pink Mercy: "Heroes never die...for a very expensive price"

Pink Mercy = 10/10. Great skin, buuuuuut…

If that skin was supposed to be for the Anniversary and then at the last second they decided to do this event instead and now Mercy doesn’t get a skin for the Anniversary I will be beyond upset.

Good cause or not, the price is absolutely crazy. I dont think I will get it due to the price. I am not against charity, I think buying things for charity is good BUT $20 is just bonkers, especially for the people who literally dont even care about charity, they just want to buy the skin because they like it.

In WoW I have purchased almost all the pets that are sold for charity and disaster relief efforts and they are only $10 a pop.

This skin should not be more than $10

I think they are actually hurting the potential profits with a big ego here.

This is also slightly worrying. Does this mean most of the best future skins are going to be paid only?

I feel like this event is just testing the waters to see how much money/hype they can generate. Of course a LOT of people will buy it because Mercy is one of the most popular heroes. Unfortunately, whales will always buy everything.

If they get good feedback, which they will, we might be seeing way more skins for money.

One of the best things about Overwatch was the fact that every skins was attainable with in game currency. If they decide to change this model then that will be the straw that breaks the camels back here.

The game already suffers from a LOT of bad things like missing features and bad balance but this could take the game in a really bad direction.

yes because supporting a cause for giving 1 dollar makes you give entitled to give you a skin.

That is pretty much the most selfish thing I have read today. They made the skin, to get money, to save real peoples lives. REAL LIVES. Versus a tiny pocket change ?

No, but this isn’t a “future” skin, it is a promotion for a very real thing.

Uh… op… what profits?

Blizzard Entertainment will donate 100% the proceeds that it receives from all Pink Mercy skin sales to BCRF, with a guaranteed minimum donation of $250,000 (USD)

Wow there is too much in this post to touch. Just gonna say I don’t think they would add this skin in the anniversary event as it doesn’t have any kind of lore or character connection to it. How does Mercy relate to the colour pink? I’m pretty confident in the fact that this skin was made specifically for this event. If all you care about is the skin then be happy you got the chance to get this amazing skin

Watching streams give you sprays and stuff. The skin you have to buy. I got it just a little while ago.

Get over yourself, dude. It’s a skin – a virtual item – being given as a thank you to those who donate $15 for breast cancer research. Your “anger” over this is absurd. Take a look at the bigger picture, or step away from the game for a while if this is getting you so riled up.

100% of the PROFITS that go to BCRF.

They are potentially limited the amount of money that could be going to research and development.

I guess you missed the part where I said I have given a lot to the other charities and disaster relief efforts that World of Warcarf supports. I have bought all of them.

If you don’t like the skin, don’t buy it. Nobody is forcing you.

Mercy didn’t get an Anniversary skin last year, but so far this year she got… the Year of the Dog legendary skin, the Summer games skin, and now this one. I’m not really mad at that.

This skin is for a good cause and it blows my mind that so many people are finding fault in that.

Dude it’s for charity. What the hell is with all you entitled people? This is CHARITY SKIN. FOR BREAST CANCER. Christ on a stick get over yourselves you’re all embarrassing.

You support the charity drive or you don’t. Why are people making such a big deal out of this? And honestly 15$ is not a lot for a donation to a charity. I think people are so hung up on the skin saying “15 BUCKS FOR 1 SKIN?!?!?!”

When their mindset should be 15 bucks to help fun life saving research. Priorities man. Priorities.

“Profits” implies blizzard is making money. They aren’t. That’s why a lot of places use ‘proceeds’ gathered/received. Just as a heads up.

They’re also doing a charity stream bit, for people who don’t want to pay $15 (USD) for the skin. They’re limiting nothing by putting a flat price tag on one - or two if you count the shirt - item. You’re kind of stuck on this for no real reason other than what sounds like “i want the skin to be cheaper”. :c

You dont realize anything right?

YOUR NOT PAYING FOR THE SKIN

your donating towards cancer research AND their giving you something in return

which they shouldnt even do that

its a donation after all

They are donating all the money from the skin to breast cancer charities.

If you don’t want to donate that’s fine but please do not make such a stupid thread attacking money that’s going to go to charity because you don’t want to give 5 extra dollars on a cosmetic. This is the definition of a first world problem.

Stop complaining about a price that goes to charity. It is not a cashgrab.

I don’t know why they set the price at $20 but they did so you can either pay $20, get the skin and be donating to charity in the process or not. It’s really as simple as that. Maybe they are testing the waters for something else, there’s really no way to know and no way to stop them from doing whatever it is they want to do either way. I’m curious to know why $20 though. Must be a sweet spot.

I’m probably in the minority but I don’t care for the skin. Maybe because I’m not a Mercy player? I’ll donate some other way though because it’s a good cause.
