just curious how many of you there are cause i just had a match where we were getting our faces pounded in and i look back and our winston was just sitting at the spawn door…so i replied:
throwing? in MH???
he said his controller died…and when i looked he was not a crossplayer…when i pointed that out he said its easier and asked if it was that hard to believe
well…yes actually…who voluntarily chooses to play controller on a PC? correct me if im wrong but you dont even get aim assist?
so how off am I? how many of you are there? or was that just BS? regardless thats the first time ive even heard of someone doing this (willingly)

You may not believe me but controller works very very well with heroes that need not precise aiming.
Moving your hero around with controller has day and night difference compared to keyboard. You are basically controlling the movement of your hero with just 2 fingers and the others have so much room to quickly react to other stuff.
Suggest to try it out on your own tho coz different ppl have different experience.

Winston is definitely controller friendly. You could get away with it on plenty of heroes, actually. Especially post season 9.

just a way to play a game, don’t take it too far
sometime i want to lay back while still play any game, controller will be the perfect choice
the least action to get things done, i mean 3 fingers each hand at most with 0 movement on arm and wrist, that is a pure chill to me
oc my performance drop quite much without m&c but who suppose to care if i don’t care myself
it’s a game after all
Hybrid gamer here.
I just prefer the realism and immersiveness of the rumble of controller. It feels so cool in my hands. I tried a mouse and keyboard, even tried one of those rumble mice but it just wasnt the same.
I play with a USB cable thou. I hate dealing with batteries.

seems as though there are a few (again im hearing about this for like first time ever)…would you categorize it as easier though? sounds like youve done both
Probably the people youre playing with intentionally handicapped.
Probably
Most likely
Yes
Id say its easier.
I guess Im just too used to playing on a controller. I used to play UT 2004 with a mouse and keyboard, and i was good at it too. But when Halo came out, i played only on controllers for years, including Super Smash on the Nintendo Switch. Ive gone too deep on controllers, its like i cant go back now
Not necessarily.
Jay 3 has done a couple GM vs GM customs where one team is PC GM’s and one team is console/controller GM’s.
I think maybe PC won once but console/controller definitely won once. Some people were flabbergasted and assuming they were ximming. As if it’s not at all possible for console players to be good at the game.
I mean I can’t say they weren’t, but also… I’m not going to stick my head in the sand and refuse to believe console GM’s can beat PC GM’s fair n square.
How much is controller truly a handicap? Especially in OW where gamesense is king. I don’t really know.

this is why i was asking about aim assist…its one thing to be a console player…you at least get aim assist there…i dont think PC players do (emphasis on think)

I have known players who play on pc with controller because they prefer controller
Usually they start out as console players and just get used to the controller
Yes I think this is weird.

Enough to where they have to give you aim assist so…
There are people who have used controllers all their lives and can’t adjust to m&k. Also, no aim assist on PC.

I see the appeal it’s a lot easier and you can sit back in your chair
You could easily play someone like Rein, mercy or Winston on controller
Maybe even Moira
see thats the part thats wild to me…you are willingly giving yourself a handicap by opting for controller on a PC (moreso than it already is)
When I first played this game, I was bad at aiming and tried using a controller for the first week or two. Controller is much worse than keyboard, if you’re trying to play competitive. I only use controller when I’m playing single player games now.

Only thing that scares me more than death are Genji players who play with a controller, whether on PC or Console.
I just don’t see how it can work at all.
To each their own but I will not believe anyone who says it’s better.
