She’s an engineer that has a shield and flail and hands out armour (Honestly I don’t really think the fact that it’s not literally armour matters frankly, the idea is still there and very clear)
Everybody’s going to look at her kit in OW2 and instantly recognise it. Her identity is still very much intact without the stun.
Would you consider something like an AMA only accessible by trust level 3 people? They’re the ones most involved in discussion and likely the most passionate about the game.
The ignorance of these responses confirms mercy and zarya will actually remain trash, Devs, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
I actually cant even believe these responses, even with the lamestream media game journalists and pros calling out how bad some characters are, they have the gall to say that theyre strong? What??? Ive seen it for myself Devs, theyre very bad and dont fit into this at all! What??? I hope theres more of a solution to this besides claiming everything is aight when its not.
Its only productive if you, the devs, actually have something to work with, and become transparent, and at least make it seem you guys and gals pay attention to what we have to say. Us support mains, especially mercy and brig, are quite literally quaking in our boots watching these playtests, and I hope these responses from Geoff are just pranks, otherwise idk whats going to happen, it wont be good, and you will see firsthand obviously.
They were literally talking about a DIFFERENT BUILD to what we saw with the healers and pointed out that certain heroes were stronger in the pros hands than in the playtests.
Why are you so worked up about them literally pointing out facts?
Not once did they say the pros opinions were not valid and they have made changes to the build based on pro feedback.
Sometimes I think people are just angry because they want to be.
Because they have a long history of completely neglecting the fact that something is wrong, even with the community stammering and yelling at them for months lots of the time, and not doing a single thing about it, as if everything is fine and dandy, when its not. Im “getting worked up” because I dont trust them to fulfill in fixing our problems, Ive been let down way too many times already.
And when they come out here with the players, claiming that everything is fine, I get a little bit suspicious
Ok - so you are deciding not to actually read what they say as is but putting your own bias on it.
Tell me, how is it possible to EVER have a constructive conversation on this forum with the devs when people have already decided what the devs will say/do before they’ve done/said it?
Where did they claim that? They literally caveats everything as a work in progress that needs to be verified in playtests at different levels to teach them what they don’t know.
I’m all for constructive criticism but making up your own reality to argue against is just crazy to me.
Hey dont come at me, Im taking everything with a grain of salt until I get my hands on it, but that doesnt mean I cant be worried, Ive been burned by them before, and probably will again. Im just saying, whats wrong with asking a few questions? Some transparency that reflects with the playerbase? You can go ahead and have confidence, though, its all good.
Be worried - especially with the general direction of the changes.
That’s a completely valid reason to be concerned.
But you are claiming they are going against pro and journalist feedback when they were talking about completely different builds. This is misinformation.
You claimed that they “had the gall” to claim heroes are strong against said feedback when they acknowledged it and simply said that they were surprised because of their internal playtests. That’s not ignorance, that’s honesty.
You are talking like it’s finished when they’ve already said they are still tweaking healing and a lot of heroes (even some based on the feedback).
They are being transparent and you are flaming them for not being transparent because you admit yourself that your bias is stopping you from accepting what they’ve told us is what they are seeing.
My advice is to calm down and read it without bias - maybe then you’ll have something constructive to say.
So, all those posts crying that supports were gonna be absolute trash because the pros played a few games and didn’t favour certain heroes have all been… cries for nothing?
I kept saying “stop panicking, the balance team will find a way to make all roles impactful” but noooo everyone kept saying “this is the way OW2 is going, it’s now COD, it’s now OW, this game is trash, balance team sucks”.
Let’s have a little more optimism for this game. We all have our worries, but don’t forget they’re not even giving us that big of a glimpse at what’s behind the curtain. We’re getting little bits of info until they’re ready to start going full steam ahead in 2022.
It’s never gonna be perfect, and it’s never gonna cater to everyone’s personal preferences. But I have faith that this will really be something big when the time comes. Might not be your cup of tea, but I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next for the beloved FPS.
Do you think moving Zarya to the DPS role would help fix alot of her issues ? Obviously she would need to be tuned a bit like with health and stuff but then she isn’t the throw tank/brawler and she can still get value out of a tank pushing in and being aggressive. I understand she has a larger hit box, but so does bastion and he’s got 300hp so I think they would have a much easier time moving her to DPS instead of keeping her as a tank/brawler.
And did you actually had issue dealing with them? It wasn’t even close to being the best comp that you could make at the time.
Your team could pick 5 reins and just destroys them.
