At the very least we can say, the people working on hero design at Blizzard are unlikely to be sitting at their desks rubbing their hands together evilly as they think about how to design a character so ideologically hideous that it drives many players away (and thus, money). Who cares if Venture pisses anyone off? It’s not enough to matter, clearly. And that’s not what they’re about.

I want to see how many people with rainbow icons we can get typing at the same time, for some reason the two up right now blending together have me laughing. Extra thicc LGBT.

“wHaT dOeS “x” mEaN?”

Yeah, maybe that would have worked in like 1980, when not everyone had access or know how to use the internet.

Now, when we are using the same internet to write these messages; yeah, that won’t do.

Not so legit answer:

Lgbt+ was a bad idea to start with.

Around these parts we understand regex, it should be lgbt.*

thats socialism thing… companies usually care about “inclusivity” because of grants from gov + tax reductions…and they do it despite of backfires because grants\taxes are more predictable and guaranteed than money from customers

for similar reasons they release games exclusively for specific platforms(EGS or consoles) - you just get guaranteed\predictable money from platform owners and can ignore state of your product + reaction of your actual customers doesnt matter as much

as a legit answer to this, i tend to gravitate towards posts made about lgbtq+ things since as seen here too, theres TOOOOONNNSSS of misinformation and just overall negativity, so to both try to help people understand the reality of things, or to tip the scales so its not so overwhelmingly one sided i reside in these during when theyre super popular

You literally do know though lol

Players for years have been using different pronouns to make callouts.

Nobody questioned when we called our Zen teammate “she”. I knew from voice it’s a female. Nobody questioned when we call Pharah “he”, maybe because by default people assume it’s a male.

In 4 matches, there were 2 where players correcting in match chat when someone referred to Venture a she.

If this is how things are going to be, it’s going to be a long summer.

Dang nabbit! Those darn liberals and their gendered pronounce!1!!!11!

what happened after that though

Exactly. They’re upset by us even existing. It’s impossible to have a safe community then try to cater to these animals at the same time. Different struggle, but I’ll never forget being in an online chat for anime fans and having a conversation with this cool guy about his OC, only for him to become furious when he learned I was black and threatened to lynch me. There’s no way in hell I want to share a community with people like that. I would rather spend my slave wage dollars elsewhere
