This game is as dead as the tumbleweed that rolls over in Mcree’s ult

That’s way more than average and that’s bc emong has 60k viewers for some reasons.

Isn’t 80k view relatively good? Last I checked the game had like 30K views

using twitch views to discern if a game is “popular” isnt really a good way to judge a game’s success. sure alot of people are “watching” other games but can you really say at this moment game A has more people playing it than game B?

Yeah in my experience checking it over the last few months, the averages have been down between 13k and 15k. If you have Twitch sort by views it’s often not even in the top 5-6 rows of games, often getting beaten out by really obscure or old titles that you wouldn’t expect to have a large player base.

A lot of fanboys say it’s because they moved OWL to youtube, but like… Popular streamers didn’t move to youtube, but they stopped streaming Overwatch. Gee, I wonder why…

Most of the time it doesn’t go much higher than 20 k views.

Emong has 60k viewers (hes prob in front page) and is pretty much carrying the numbers. The average is always around 22-25k

So if you go look at Twitch, it says 63k of those viewers are watching Emongg. The other top streamers are getting 2.2k, 1.8k, and the rest are in the hundreds. Quite anemic I’d say.

It’s literally only one streamer drawing that crowd. That’s not the game doing it, my dudes.

im just gonna guess but i am sure MORE people at this moment are playing fortnite, call of duty (whatever), apex and pubg. overwatch on the other hand is still leagues better than other online competitive fps’s by far, if your only getting beat by 4 of them when there are 100’s on the market thats still pretty good

It’s better on the technical side, how the game moves and looks, but it’s significantly worse on the player experience and retention side; that’s going to be a long term problem.

Especially when you consider that near everyone who was going to play Overwatch probably has at this point, it’s not a new game anymore it’s been out for 4 years, gone on sale a lot, had free weekends etc.

Whatever player base it was going to attract, it has attracted and given them the Overwatch Experience by now. Which means the name of the game isn’t how graphically stunning your game is, but how fun and enjoyable your game is.

Overwatch has been hemorrhaging players for months, up to a year now, and it’s only going to continue to bleed as the in game problems aren’t fixed or even addressed by Blizzard. It’s not as though there’s an infinite supply of gamers that would be interested in your product, especially in this day and age when the internet exists and everyone hears about everything simultaneously. The market has been tapped, and Overwatch is going to really struggle to find replacements because everyone will have already tried and gotten sick of Overwatch before.

Why is that

Most of the time I see him with around 2k

But nowadays I see him go from 2k to 60k+ back to 2k

i think its because he’s actually in twitch’s front page

Maybe because he’s one of the very last ‘well known’ streamers that’s still around? Who knows.

What? It usually have less than 16k lol 80k is a privilege

That makes sense, being put on the landing page of twitch would net you a lot of viewers.

It not being that fun to watch doesn’t mean the game itself is dead.

Wow, a lot of people would rather watch it than play it apparently.

lol

I only watch OW being played on Twitch very rarely (usually for events that we have to watch things to earn things). So…

I usually just get the highlights over on YouTube. But in some ways I guess I still watch some of it don’t I?

So those views are only for those being watched there and really can’t be a true metric of game activity.

Now you are taking one game and comparing its number of views on Twitch to another game and its views on Twitch and noting popularity that way, then, that at least matters to Twitch users I think.

You posted that as I was editing my comment. As I was saying.

63k of it are literally just for one popular streamer that got put on twitch’s front page, the game averages at best around 20k viewers, usually down at 15k when I see it.

Just glancing now and COD Warfare has 191k viewers, so…

Yeah guys, Overwatch sure is ‘popular’! lol

Now, watch as the sarcasm goes “whoosh” over everyone’s head.
