OW has 80k viewers on twitch

I dont even watch Twitch anymore except for one games stream and one of my friends livestreams. It became more strict than Youtube ever was. I hear many people leaving for Youtube for the same reason.

Sometimes I think people just the phrase “xyz is dead” because it gives them closure.

among us was at 260k at the top
20k ant bad the games alive
and if its not why does this game have you looking at the forums and people posting on it

OW had a few streamers sponsored by Coke and giving gifts, otherwise those numbers are not as high at any time of the day mate.
Tarkov for example has 400k. OW is not dead but its going down steadily.

I had two friends that started playing it several months ago, but they already quit because of smurfs and throwers.

they should play some quick play or workshop its way better
(and workshop makes more video games inside of overwatch)

The game quality has taken a really sharp nosedive, it seems to just get significantly worse every time they put in a new social system. LFG made it worse because the throwers could team up and derank together without getting reported as much. Workshop mode made it worse because we lost a portion of the player base to the workshop indefinitely, they’re no longer in the normal lobby because they like Workshop games instead, so now we’re just… Down a bunch of players! 222 made it worse because if you can’t stand being locked into a role, you’re gonna either quit the game or stop playing that version, which means you’re over in the arcade original QP mode, which even FURTHER segments the player base -

I’d say endorsements are the only change they made that were a net neutral, because they did absa-flippin-lutely nothing.

what did workshop ever do to you?
(also comp just sucks i have played 2 seasons i play quick play and arcade because its fun and people dont care)
also endorsements give you lootboxes so im happy thats a thing

ow averages like 16k viewers.
just emongg is doing some ad thing with coke energy, not sure why that gets him so many more viewers.

People really don’t understand that when you announce a sequel and stop producing content, the drought in popularity and activity is exactly what Blizzard expected?

The game isn’t dead, either. Its just less active, while the people who play more than just OW are now waiting while playing other things.

Yet imagine thinking this is some shame that needs to be highlighted.

Nothing, and I have nothing against it as a game mode; but you have to be practical about the actual consequence of adding it to the game.

There is now a portion of the player base always in the workshop.

Like - when Overwatch came out, there weren’t so many popular Arcade modes. I don’t know if they even offered as many, because I’m pretty sure AI was over there taking up space iirc. So we had QP, Comp, and maybe 2-3 arcade modes.

Basically this means that the millions of players are all in just a few lobbies.

Now, we have 222, 6 different arcade modes, Comp, AND Workshop with an indefinite amount of game modes to draw people away from the main game.

That’s like going from having one store location to having 500; of course your customers are going to be fewer and far between in every location, your audience is split up.

right but it also means more people would like your store
but i see your point
also do you even know how to use workshop?

I mean not necessarily; workshop mode might attract a certain group of people and please them, but also; what could we have gotten instead of Workshop mode? Would it have pleased more players, or brought them more together, or improved the actual Overwatch game experience in some way?

Like what if instead of all the work they put into Workshop, they’d put that into Guilds, and given us a way to learn how to work with teammates similar to how OWL teams work? It would have been significantly more relevant to the game of Overwatch itself, and perhaps extended the life of the game by a long time.

Workshop modes are great fun, but rarely do they bring the community closer to the game itself. And I say this as someone who has only enjoyed the Workshop mode of MANY games; it’s basically like cutting off your arm and handing it way. Sure they might have fun with the arm, but it’s very… separate, from the game itself.

ahh well if you want to learn workshop

Yes, it just has little appeal for me since I like the game of Overwatch, and I want to play Overwatch Matches when I play Overwatch. I like Ana paintball and some of the parkour games, but by and large it’s just… not what I’m here for.

edit: if I’m in the mood for anything that the Overwatch Workshop offers, I’ll likely just play a different game that was made to do that thing. Workshop modes are great for young people who have a lot of time to waste dealing with fiddly little bits and ends and whatnot, but I’m not really at that point in my life anymore.

I got interested in it to make my own balance patches but then realized there’s still a lot of balancing changes you can’t make with it.

its because of dad. (20 characters)

Dad emong is op pls nerf

Its crazy how views are deemed so important to a games health or quality.

If the game was so good wouldn’t people be playing it?

That’s why so many games are meh. They are being made to appeal to people watching not playing.

Yeah I’ve noticed a decline in viewers for Overwatch lately. It’s losing its shine.
