ITS BEEN YEARS, no new content or heroes, only these half-decent skins that lack no detail and uniqueness to the game. The entire community is bored of this, once the 2nd game is released there is no doubt that several people will be disappointed because the anticipation of the game took LONGER than it should have. No one is excited anymore. It’s been too long and there’s no excuse for no content in the first game, its called laziness and THAT’S why Jeff Kaplan left, he got too tired. Moreover, when the new heroes do eventually get released for Overwatch 2, they seem to be stale and add no real fun to the game that can be exciting. We’ve wanted characters with elements for the longest time (mage-like), not stop repetitive, overused, gun-shooting and plain heroes that can have their kit recreated by a high-schooler within minutes.
Enough is Enough.
Edit - 18/05/2023 - Although my post was a half-joke, i was still very correct. anyone who defended their lies i am very sorry for

This is such an immature take.
Not getting what you want doesn’t mean the people not giving it to you are lazy.
- The lack of content has been a strategic choice clearly communicated.
- In real life, there is limited time and resources. Your statement is that people working on things they were told by their bosses not to work on makes them lazy. In essence, you are saying working two jobs while being given time for one makes you lazy. With this attitude, I’m sure you are top 1% in your chosen field.
- there has been a global pandemic and a sexual harassment scandal.
With all of these things combined - to say the actual people are lazy stinks of never having had to work a day in your life in a meaningful job.
Be dissatisfied with the decision of making OW2 - fine - but coming to the conclusion of laziness is just ridiculous.

Given your history I don’t particularly believe this was made in good faith but besides that, not releasing content doesn’t indicate that the people developing this game are lazy because they aren’t the ones that made that decision.
Whether or not they release content now or for OW2, it doesn’t change the fact that they are working on content.

So lazy, yeah man totally
Op’s core point stands but for different reasons.
Ow team are LAZY, Directionless and incompetent at balancing, maintaining and developing the game.
What they used to be okish was New content (aka heroes maps) which was stopped by their bosses to make money grab ow2 when their underlings has no idea what to do to make ow2.
In the process abandoned ow1 completely.

Has the sexual harrassment scandal been going on for nearly three years? This ‘strategic choice’ is causing a drought and definitely isn’t working since many people from the community are leaving the game and finding better, more active alternative (such as LoL). They’re a multi-millionaire company, that has nearly grossed 1 billion dollars, there should be no such thing as ‘limited resources’. It’s plain greediness which has led to laziness.

that DVa skin is so ugly. and its legendary. just wow.

It looks pretty awesome honestly. Heck I even know someone that’s considering coming back from a small OW hiatus purely because of it.
And I don’t see why it shouldn’t be legendary

I neither hate nir like the skin it’s passable, its basically bastion gift-wrap skin on mecha, and sweater 76 on dva both are epic skins, only change is they dyed dva blonde.
I mean it can be legendary in the same way meirry was.

I suggest taking another look at it then. Or maybe, like, 10.

The actions have been going on for even longer than that. These employees have had to work in that environment. To not recognize that is…
Well yes, as I said, it’s logical to disagree with a strategic choice but to equate it to employee laziness is…
I work for a company far larger than ActiBlizz than makes significantly more profit. There are ALWAYS limited resources. If you want to understand why, I suggest you educate yourself in this area but I will put it this way, there is always a management decision on the budget and the employees have to work within those confines.
Disagree with the budget - fine - but to call those employees lazy for working within those confines is…
How is the greediness related to the laziness?
If you work at a McDonalds and management decides that your McDonalds restaurant is will from now on have only 1 staff member rather than 10, if the service slows down because that person is trying to do the job of 10 people, does that make them lazy?

Actually even those seems to be outsourced if what has been thrown around is true.

They’re not lazy, they’re just hoarding content for OW2 release
Like do you think Joe Artist has 3 months of downtime between events, where he’s just sitting around playing WoW, until the next holiday comes up and he makes a couple of skins?
It shouldn’t be an excuse for the lack of content though.
If going the way to make a sequel should at least ensure the current game gets enough updates in the meantime. It is not like the OW1 content will get lost after the release of OW2 anyway since they are the same game.

Well that is different to calling them lazy. That is disagreeing with their approach.
I think most people are not happy with the decision to spend little time and resources in OW1 while they are working on OW2.
I personally have stopped playing.
Yeah but it is questionable how much work has been done on OW2 so far either.
