This is the big thing. Most of the large OW streamers moved to Fortnite because Fortnite is where the viewers and the money is.

They are doing free weekends and double experience for a reason. They are trying to boost their active player base, and I don’t think it’s working.

i’m watching and playing dead by daylight since few days… dont have much passion to play ow or watch the same toxic streamers …

I mean theres E3, along with the anniversary event ending.
I’m just speaking for myself but I’m definitely taking a little break from OW, not because the game irks me, but because I played the hell out of it during the anniversary and esp during the double exp weekend.
Like someone else in the thread already said… it’s back on the list again already.
Wait until another big event (lol not summer games) or the next time a hero drops, and then check the twitch rankings.

A few streamers who had the majority of the game’s views deciding to shill out to Fortnite is not a “good indicator” of the game’s overall health.
Whenever streamers like DansGaming decide to play some old forgotten game like “Lucius”, that game is on the front page, despite being an old, irrelevant single player game.
Of course OW isn’t going to have the same #s it did in its first year…that goes for almost any game. I just think it’s beyond laughable to base the health/lifespan of a game on whether or not some particular twitch partner is streaming it at the moment.
Fortnite dominates the front page. Do you really think people are going to be playing Fortnite 3 years from now? The hype is reminiscent of H1Z1…
(Also, GTA 5 is up there because it’s now mostly streamers showing the RP servers for that game. I think everybody got bored of watching the “Heists” since 2014.)

Sunday night there was an esports match going on. It had 1.5k views. Sinatraa was streaming at the same time and had similar viewer numbers. It doesn’t seem to me that this game has a healthy esports scene.

Good, they get what they sow. This game won’t be top 25 after this fall. They alienated the FPS crowd to cater to the SJW crowd. Then proceed to ignore the MMR/Rank mode. Abysmal balancing and yada yada etc etc. Million time this stuff been mentioned.
Like for real, it really seems they’re doing this on purpose.

Never understood why anybody would even bother catering to the SJW crowd. Such a tiny minority of the overall community, and an annoying one at that.

I mean Dota, LoL, hearthstone and csgo still top 5-10. Cant get any older than those IP.
Can’t say oh fortnite is doing it. No its the OW team that’s doing and SJW playerbase. Not sure why people cant see it. The twitch permabanned me for calling the caster cringey. haha seriously permabanned.

Fortnite is just another overhyped game that all the streamers flocked to to make a quick buck off of. Can’t blame them for that, that’s how many of them make a living.
OW is currently #12 on the front page. It’ll probably be #1 on the front page when the new patch goes live.
I care more about long term stability than sensationalism. I don’t expect it to be #1-3 for years to come, CSGO isn’t, but still has a very healthy player base, as does WoW.
I agree w/ you on the catering to the SJW whiners. I spoke against this just yesterday on a thread advocating for even more in-game censorship on “bad words” that “trigger” them. No. I want them to focus on balancing out the game and retaining the core player base…not throwing all of this away just to cater to an annoying but loud minority group.

Blizzard seems to want the #s generated by Twitch as a platform, but hates the platform and its userbase.

And exactly one of the main reason why so many people left and viewers dropped. Absolutely insane with the new profile hidden crap. In game banned for cussing, gg ez censorship etc etc. They go on these forums and see all the safe space SJW posters. Think OH these are great, more censorship

This game has stopped being fun when the devs decided to let toxicity get out of control. They are now, barely attempting to fix it. However, it should be noted, whoever they have as their consultant, regarding how to deal with a gaming community, needs to be fired. They caused the toxicity themselves by never balancing the game quickly, and letting heroes go over/under powered for so long, that it feels unfair at times when you are trying your best, but 1 unbalanced hero can suck the fun out of a match. They let things burn until the community makes an uproar. Why does it always have to get to that point, whey do we as the community have to deal with this and get frustrated until we demand change? We paid them to give us a good time, and this experience hasn’t felt good in a while.
