Overwatch 2 is a good game

i love this game as well and will most likely be here till they shut the servers down. i do think it could have been WAY BETTER especially with the pve and lore aspect. also yea i am upset how it joined all the online service games with battle pass and shop monetization but hey… i dont mind dropping money on my favorite game.

i could buy a game on steam right now for 60 bucks (triple A single player game) and get 100s of hours of gametime but get bored after the 3rd, 4th, 5th playthrough. i been playing this game for 7 years and i think i got my enjoyment for my money’s worth

or maybe i just a hopless addict but hey i was the same with alcohol before. addiction problems lol…

Why compare apples and oranges? There really are very few games on OW’s tier in its genre. TF2, Paladins, and some people count Valorant (definitely not me though)

Yeah, selling a terrible and super short pve sequence for 15$ is objectively good game design. Next joke please.

that right there is the core issue

we wanted a sequel to the original overwatch 1, not a polished version of paladins

That’s not the whole game matey mate.

I agree. But let’s not make excuses to review bomb. Let them have it, without intellectual dishonesty.

It’s one of the many, many terrible decisions that make this game NOT good. You can’t call something objectively good then just dismiss any issue provided.

Its alright, ive been playing less and was mostly sticking around for pve. Kind of disappointed in what we got

Objectively and holistically OW2 is NOT a good game.

It has fun moments and when fair matches occur and when certain compositions and situations happen. This is good.

The characters are mostly interesting and varied. This is good.

There are some characters that are very unbalanced or extremely annoying to play against or with and some have been made ineffectual at their jobs so that playing them is a handicap but there is no warning about this and the attitude towards this by the makers is that they will fix it… someday. This is bad.

The rewards and involvement in customization are expensive or prohibitive in acquisition . The game demands you play on it’s schedule and not your own and focus on the gameplay IT deems rewardable. This is bad

The developers continue to promise incredible levels of content and sell items using FOMO only to renege on these promises later or arbitrarily bring back content that was sold on lack of information of future acquisition causing disappointment when perceived value is taken away or never delivered. This is bad.

The game continually alienates and disenfranchises it’s veterans. Offering little incentive to participate in new events or campaigns. Killing interest and excitement. This is bad

The matchmaker is incredibly loose. This is bad, especially with the low player count available.

The punishments and/or incentives to finish games are sparse. This is bad and aggravates the previous problem.

The report/punishment system is INCREDIBLY gameable and abusable and currently exceedingly poorly reviewed or checked with people getting form letters that are provably and increasingly not reviewed by someone who actually understands what they say or entail. This is bad.

The game updates release with extremely obvious bugs and lacks QA, exposing people to incredibly unsatisfying and frustrating experiences. This is bad.

You keep talking about “the whole game” and that includes every bit of it. The gameplay, the development, the interaction, the presentation, the monetization, The history, the depth, the interaction, and the regulation.

There’s fun gameplay IN there and possible. This does not make it a good game.

Valorant, paladins, literally any game is better than ow2

Its a good game because its 85% OVW1. Its also a scam, but thanks to the OVW2 improvements.

Everything good about Overwatch 2 is Overwatch 1.

PvE was a lie. OW2´s only purpose is get rid off earnable skins and install greedy shop and BP.

That is why it deserves all the bad reviews and i am thinking about leaving one aswell.

i wish i could give a mixed review, but that is not possible on steam.

It feels odd to review the game i am gonna have the most playtime in a bad review, but somehow we must speak up against lies and Activision greedy behavior.

then how about this
its genre sucks

I already saidby opinion: is sustantially sc2 nova covert ops (not a bad xhoice considering the devs story if ow2)

to review bombing… honestly most of the comments are about gameplay length and recriminations about what they expected from ow2. so far I don’t consider them wrong, it’s a legitimate disappointment. BUT I also don’t find it fair to say they “were robbed” of $15 as if it were assets. heck we have in F2P what still remains a HUGE pvp game and crossplay too. the one on the pve is an extremely less shameful price than the skins, in terms of the quantity actually offered. and let’s not pretend that it will end up like nova covert ops: with the next bundle it is practically certain that they will discount the previous one.

Yeah, you’re right: this isn’t a comment for make a conversation for a forum, but an useless fast message of twitter (now x).

Ive always said people are free to hate whatever they want.

Review bombing is just a really scummy thing to do and no amount of “Blizz sucks” is gonna make me like it. :person_shrugging:t5:

objectively? I don’t know. The main thing of a good game is ‘fun’. And a LOT of people are suggesting it isn’t the most fun.

Well I would sure hope so. Paladins comes from Hi-Rez Studios where they make $152 million a year. However, Blizzard makes around $8 BILLION a year.

So I do not expect just more polished for a company with those earnings. I expect blown out of the water. Zero competition.

OW1 was good and OW2 is building upon that. Most of that is good but the game is still just OW1. We were promised a PvE mode. Yet, the PvE mode they just released does not feel like it came from a $8 billion a year earning company.

Yeah, I won’t bother arguing about WHY they’re wrong, it’s just a big steaming pile of bias, not gonna touch that. Instead, I’ll just keep asking: Show me a better ability shooter game.

LOL, Valorant is a counterstrike with a couple abilities to try and look hip. Does NOT compare to OW2 as an ability shooter.

Paladins is just a trash version of OW2 and everybody knows it.

Still waiting, there’s gotta be one if 31680 people keep insisting OW2 bad.

Or, you could own up that you just don’t like the decisions the game directors have done. Game as a whole is still good, but not what you wanted or were promised. You know, be honest? It’s a lot to ask I know.

Suck it up buttercups, blizz deserves it.

Overwatch 2 is not overall a good game.

Is it super polished? Yes absolutely. Can the gameplay be fun? Also yes.

However literally everything else about the game is absolute garbage. A game can’t be overall good if you have to dig through multiple layers of garbage before maybe having fun.

Just because the competitors are worse does not automatically make Overwatch good, especially not “objectively good”.
A lot of people feel like the ability shooter aspect of overwatch have diminished, myself included.
And a lot more people have complained that the rewards of playing this “objectively good” game has disappeared entirely. OW2 in large “felt” like a monetization update since the most amount of effort spent on the game seems to have been in trying to find every single way to make people spend money on it.
Also while tank gameplay was bad in ow1 it is so much worse in ow2. It’s disgustingly awful now.
