ESPECIALLY not infinite range. Gotta love it when Diamond players run into QP spamming Orisa because they’re guaranteed to win now, without any real counterplay or potential to have fun for literally anyone but Orisa. Sad times, Blizzard. But at least you’re selling the battle pass, right?
Does Zarya no longer counter Orisa?
She can for sure, but then the entire enemy team goes Zar counters and that kinda kills that unfortunately. It’s easy to counter Zar, but having a whole team that counters Orisa? You’ll still not kill her plus her team will be even stronger because you’re just trying to kill the invincible horse
Orisa doesn’t even have to get in range of her anymore. You can play either into each other and it comes down to which team supports them better.
It’s a rule of thumb that all projectiles shouldn’t have falloff.
Spitting literal unrelenting facts, except for tanks
It sounds like the solution is to kill her team, then, otherwise all resources on both sides (including time) just get sucked into the horse like a black hole.
Yeah, the unfortunate part about that is if you ignore the Orisa, she is far more likely to 1v4 and survive than anyone else is. Even if I had two people with me, the Orisa can still kill two and come out at 4/5 health, fortify off cooldown, and we don’t have enough resources to kill her even without 3 of her teammates. I know that sounds specific but every time myself and my team have tried to do just that, the exact outcome has been Orisa walks out almost full health and still wins without the need of a team
Maybe I’m just playing against bad Orisas then.
Maybe, idk. I fought 3 Diamond Orisa’s in a row and got frustrated. I’m a casual player, fighting literal sweats straight from the epitome of rank abuse lol
Could be that. Dva’s decent vs her too (and all the better to dive past her).
Ok, but why do Hog and Doom have falloff on their primary fire?
Most projectile have distance limitations or falloff on aoe but not so much on their projectiles.
Even if she’s not OP, she’s extremely frustrating. She is the most frustrating character to vs for me.
I wish they would shift stuff around and make her less frustrating but still impactful.
Having a character who’s sole purpose is “I’m extremely hard to kill and the best in the game at sustain” is stupid.
Ram may have it done right, I feel. He can sustain for a while in Nemesis form while blocking, but that’s all he can do while he’s sustaining. He can’t attack, he can’t use other abilities (unless he uses his ult), and then when Nemesis form is gone he is very vulnerable.
Orisa should either be an offensive tank, or a defensive, survivable tank. Not both. That’s why I find her frustrating. They buff her survivability and offense, while acknowledging that people find her frustrating to play against.
Not at all what I’ve seen, most people swap off orisa if they began with her - she’s quite rare pick all in all.
I play in qp lobbies with master-gm players usually though, but in my experience the buff didnt change much anything - very situational buff imo.
Anyways, she is one of the most boring tanks to have in the game though, hope they’d do some power shifting or soft rework on her kit.
Can you quit pretending that Zarya doesn’t exist?
In lower ranked lobbies, people switch to Orisa the moment they start losing, because she is considered and often is a crutch pick for lower elo.
Yeah, im just not sure what this buff really was after - dont think the dropoff was what makes her not played in high ranks.
I might be wrong about it, as some thought it was a huge buff but so far I have not seen it.
I think the devs did it because Orisa was overall underperforming. However, this doesn’t change my opinion that she is a tank that makes other players have a worse experience, so she should never be meta.
