Impressive. Very nice. Letā€™s see Paul Allenā€™s.

Been here since forum 1.0. When dislikes were unfortunately a thing.

Yes, and it was way more lively. I remember decently sized threads got over 50+ pages, which is considered a huge thread for this dying dump.

Yeah I donā€™t know many of us who still have our original names. I do, but somehow I got lucky so far and have not only avoided the 300 year ban but Iā€™m back at trust level 3. :woman_shrugging:

I miss some of the other old-school forumers and I honestly donā€™t know or remember who most of the new/name changed accounts belonged to. What we need is for those people to post all of their aliases but then who knows what might happen lmao.

I miss stuff like the winky face council lmao.

Lively didnā€™t mean quality.

Anyone remember the dude that kept making accounts because he used to get ā€œbannedV1ā€ or something.

Do you remember KingDva? He had an entire ā€œfamilyā€ of alt accounts and made a schoolgirl dva outfit thread DAILY.

Yeah, but the old forums were way, way more fun. It was actually more fun than playing the game. My older brother and I ran troll ops on the old forums LOL

Anything then is still leaps and bounds better than ā€œIā€™ve played 209349023439 and havenā€™t won a single one!!ā€

She was hot garbage and a troll-pick with DM on a cool down instead of resource meter.

Yes I do lmao and then when Academy D.Va came out we were all like whereā€™s KingDva?!?!!

I went looking and found this old gem of cringe I posted:

Along with:

I know I have much older ones but I canā€™t seem to locate them.

Yeah the old forums was way more lenient. I remember full threads of nothing but cursing lol

But she was tankier. She wasnā€™t demeched the second you sneezed on her.

I got my first account on a 1000 year vacation because I made the ilios Tree turned Tracer nerf thread.

Basically, I posted that one side had a big tree blocking a sightline for Widow while the other side had no tree blocking the sightline (think of the big structure that widowā€™s love to use thatā€™s directly above the mega near spawn).

Anyways, I got a blue post saying: ā€œWeā€™ll look into fixing thatā€ and so I edited my OP and title post saying ā€œTracer needs to be nerfedā€ and since it had a blue post that most skipped straight to, pure chaos ensued.

Only against sustained damage. She had 100 hp and 400 armor.

Seems every version of these forums gets worse. This latest iteration makes it look like my monitor is dirty and I cannot clean it. :sob:

Remember the famous dude that provoked Jeff enough that he publicly blew up on him and then later apologized and gave him the preorder Widowmaker skin and a year subscription of WoW? I used to regularly play with someone who knew that guy. (I know, real, exciting, one of those ā€œI know a friend of a friendā€ deal, but still, small world, you know?)

IIRC, that was also the second (and last) time Jeff called any Overwatch player out publicly, the first being in response to that other infamous dude: a ban appeal to an account that was reported an absurd amount of times for its alleged bad behavior.

I remember Bootloxes days and the Council of the Winky Face.

I remember KingDVa. And that while all heā€™s remembered for was begging for a schoolgirl outfit for D.Va, posting ā€œquestionably adult-oriented D.Va imageryā€ (still canā€™t say the P-word here??) that got him banned, and that his ban occurred right before the actual so-called ā€œskin that breaks the Internetā€ released, he also posted a very important video showing off a game-breaking D.Va bug. A bug that everyone here seems to have forgotten about: shooting someone standing in front of D.Va means your shots BYPASSED Defense Matrix! That resulted in a fairly fast patch that fixed D.Va in just 1-2 days of his video being posted on these forums. (But no one credits him.) This particular bug had been introduced shortly after Blizzard had removed the minimum travel distance before a projectile could be deleted by Defense Matrix.

I made a post about blizzard stocks fixing to crash according to vwap. Dev commented on it then locked the post. Week later blizzard stocks plummeted lol

In the past, I looked to the forum for annoucements, dev posts, some insights and out of curiosity about the new stuff, but didnā€™t had the habit of log in and talk with folks. Got the habit years later, trying to give some help and return what was given to me through the years.

Iā€™m an OG player and a person who looked on the forums in the past. Dunno if you consider it as elegible, but some stuff from the past will be missed for sure both with good and bad memories.

Which I think that the effort of Craig(WyomingMist) to preserve the history on certain topics and his overall presence made things really great for the community. I dunno if the mystgraphics still exists but he recorded some nice portion of OW history in there. Also his threads of OWL, contenders, events and other things were amazingly well organized.

Some good old gems and things happened on old forums. At same time through history some good fellows appeared on forums too. Even if the game changes at least I saw several folks give ideas, talk random stuff, discuss and fight to improve this game through those years. Also some folks being called out by devs on certain ā€œpostsā€. One of the most iconic ones for me was from Jeff itself.

I donā€™t post much anymore but Iā€™m still here, watchingā€¦waitingā€¦
Maybe Iā€™ll do another art/sketch thread for people someday.
