One shots are in every game and are way more unfair

Hanzo > Widow in just about every game. He has the advantage due to a bug with his head-hitbox being so big.

Most of the fights in these games are about mind games and such. Once two people actually enter each other’s line of sight, one of them is going to die in under 3 seconds, but there’s often over a minute of buildup before that happens

This is a deathmatch game. Having one teammate die suddenly is not very consequential

Neither of these are remotely comparable to your team fighting long and hard to finally break through their defenses and the 10,000 healing per second to get a single kill but oh wait hanzo just got good RNG so now you’re effectively even, oh wait he got good RNG again so now you’re actually at a disadvantage even though you diffed all 4 other members of the enemy team

you forget one thing… EVERY PLAYER has the option to one shot in those games. every player is the same to start. overwatch is a hero fps. People may not want to play widow. but sadly widow is the only real counter to widow asides from braindead sombra.

for me the difference is that everyone used to have one (well mostly, tf2 for example) and thats why its less of an issue in other games.

She never dies she sits in the backline where monkey can’t even jump on her because its so far and if monkey does get on her.
She gets lifegripped to a better position, suzu’ed off cooldown double bubbled by zarya, she’s impossible to kill.

Not even comparable to CSGO or Valorant atleast in those games I can just onetap them or blind them and they’re a free kill there is no such thing in Overwatch.

Then the enemy team is committing all their resources to keeping her alive - meaning they’re now killable.

Either way, she’s not broken. She just forces a different playstyle and similarly to Pharah - you have to deal with her.

You’ve gotten all their resources over the span of 3 fights but now widow has killed both of your supports GG next fight.

I mean you can’t even really engage widow without her taking a few shots because of the sheer distance she is in the backline.
You’re going to lose some teammates just on the way towards her since a winston can’t even use one leap to get onto her on a map like Junkertown or Circuit royale.

Its not a fun mechanic it shouldn’t be in the game if she’s going to oneshot she should have 150 hp and be a glass cannon who can get onetapped by Ashe.

You’re assuming widow won’t miss in your scenarios. Also if it takes 3 team fights to bait out those abilities, then that’s on your team for not coordinating. You can literally just go full on dive and counter not only her, but her supports as well.

It doesn’t matter if it’s unfun or not to you. There are so many unfun elements in overwatch (namely all the crutch characters and abilities to help those who can’t aim).

She’s already extremely fragile at 175 hp and her win rate is abysmal overall. At the end of the day, sniping is a fun fps playstyle that’s been around since the beginning and you’re better off learning how to outplay her with all the tools overwatch provides rather than asking for nerfs for an already underperforming popular character.

Because T500 widows don’t miss a lot I’ve played against Kephrii it’s miserable its not fun and almost everytime I play against a T500 widow I just want to leave mid game.

Even if I don’t die, my bot teammates die over and over again, not knowing how to play. I can’t control their movement, so the game becomes completely out of my hands.

Your argument is that widow doesn’t die if she is protected by everyone? This applies to every hero…

Problem is other heroes can’t kill people across the map while being protected other heroes have to put themselves at risk.

For example Tracer technically could get double pocketed but it almost never happens one good helix damage boosted and she’s dead.

recently i’m playing a lot of sombra when i pick dps and in a lot of scenarios widow is extremely difficult to fight against because she gets instantly protected. thanks to the distance nerf a lot of widows plays closer to supports and that makes the fight more difficult.
widow is the main reason i play sombra, the same goes for mei and reaper, i pick them a lot thanks to hanzo.
Sadly this will never change and i accepted it already.
Thanks to widow, hanzo and pharmercy i’m playing less and less. Honestly, everytime i see one of those heroes on the match i just lose all interest in the game.
This season i played like 3 times i think, today was the third time, i don’t even care if i don’t unlock mauga.

At the end of the day, a small fraction of 7% of the players quitting, isn’t a significant problem to Blizzard’s business model.

And that they’d probably gain more players and more dollars by focusing on growing that 93%.

If the devs lose 0.5% of their players, in trade for +5% players. Blizzard accountants would love that.

Additionally, the vast majority of the more popular streamers are very vocal about how much they don’t enjoy Sniper counterplay. So the devs don’t particularly need to worry about any sort of social media backlash on this.

There’s no real downside to nerfing Snipers.
But there’s massive potential upsides. To the scale of tens of millions of dollars.
