So decided to play on my old main account, logged in started up comp, then mid comp match it kicks me. Tells me ive been banned for 1 day due to to many reports of gameplay sabotage.
Mind you i was on a 10 game win streak, endorsement level 4, and have never ever had issues.
So 1) your own system made 5 others lose a match
- they do not regulate their own rules and code of conduct. It specifically says playing a specific hero is not a reportable offense.
Kinda hilarious how bad blizz has gotten as of late.

Out of curiosity, what rank is your old account compared to your current? It might be that the enemy team reported you.
Oh they def reported from both sides. I had 63 hacks almost all on a rein, the played tracer and went like 50 elims and only a couple deaths.
Reported by my team for throwing and enemy team for smurfing/cheating. Makes no sense lol

Why would your team report you? And why did Blizzard listen to them, be that automated or otherwise?
Assuming it was purely off you playing Sombra, that is just wrong on so many levels if you were out there doing your best.

Because its the overwatch community lol. Doesnt surprise me one bit

smurfing is gameplay sabotage. you’re disrupting others experience of having a fair match by smurfing.
i dont see what’s the problem.

Reads like to me that you well deserved the ban. Stop smurfing and being a non-team player.

In that sense, yes. I personally, prefer that smurfing is punished but then you have people that somehow naturally drop 500 sr and ended up in the lower elo just due to bad luck. It sounds like it should be rare when that happens but oof.

that’s true. and has happened to me before. but i still can’t crush the enemies like an actual (multiple ranks higher) smurf can. I’m in mid/high silver now and if u were to put me in a mid/high bronze game - guaranteed i can’t win more than 75%+ of the games.
where as a plat/diamond smurf would be able to steamroll all of them with ~90% win rate

; w ; So many widows. . . so little time. . . soooooo soooo little time being alive. It hurts my insides.
i feel you.
worse for me is
I love 1v1ing good widows (i find it a learning experience)
but i have to fight the urge during a match so i can focus big picture.

Welp, sometimes the 1v1 is needed especially if you are either on equal playing levels or if you can outmatch them. But if there is one too many head shots on your head then ; n ; . . .
Me, I’m on support and even though I know some supports are able to take her down, I don’t have the skill sets to outplay her.
What do you mean, why did the automated system count false reports? There’s literally 0 human intervention. The only check it has is that it only counts 1 report against you per player (allegedly).
I have made the mistake of reporting someone on my team mid-match where it was enough for them to be banned right there. Now I try to wait until after the match unless we’re going to lose anyway.

What this guy said its all 100% automated. Also who the f said i was smurfing as sombra lol
This community really is kinda sad

Yeah, people tend to assume things when there are gaps. Not to mention it’s not like we can interrogate your team / enemies to ask why they reported to begin with.
But I wanted ask if there was a rank discrepancy or not and if that could be the reason or not. Perhaps the enemies felt overwhelmed by your gameplay.
I don’t see where your fact is other then everyone else said this.
I’m also not quite sure you know how it works either. It acts more of a flagging then an automated system. Everyone is bound to be reported at least once in Overwatch. The system wouldn’t be exactly reliable in controlling community punishments in the first place
The fact that bans happen MID-MATCH is about all the proof you should need. It’s one thing to naively believe Blizzard employs the thousands of people that would be needed to review reports. It’s an entirely different level to believe that they do it IN REAL TIME.
I was playing in my proper rank not smurfing, not duo with anyone higher. It was sad.
Fitzyhere gets bans and warnings all the time live on stream and hes top 500.
Problem is the devs had a gem of a game, and let it crash and burn. Most folk i know quit, most are quitting and or ready to. And i personally feel when valorant releases thats a wrap for OW.
And it pains me to say all that cuz this has been my favorite game since halo 2.
Edit- im just venting my frustrations here. Not trying to start anything with anyone.

That’s not evidence, that’s just what you believe in

So, both the old main and the current main are near the same rank. Thanks for the clarification. Even if there was a mismatch with rank, it can’t be helped since some people have alt accounts for many reasons outside of rolling low ranks, perhaps it’s to climb because the mmr of the old account is busted, to learn a new hero, etc.
Sucks to know that there might be people reporting purely on hero choice. I heard Fitzy is great on Sombra and I don’t know much in terms of him not being as effective due to the enemies composition.
Feel free to vent tho, hope others feels the same or at least can provide good company.
I’ll probably stick to Overwatch when Valorant drops because I’m not a big fan of FPS honestly. It makes me feel bad for killing other players ; w ;
