Ok, what's the drama with 2-2-2 after all?

A lot of those favoring 222 are dps players

They will queue for dps in 222

The ones that want traditional, unforced play? Come join me in freedom. I will solo heal for you, regardless of your selection

I dont see better matchmaking occurring under 222.

I understand your claim, but I dont concur

If its not about 222 but about role queue, please tell me how many players from each role will form a team

2/2/2 is a side effect of how they are likely to run roleQ.

They MAY not.

But roleQ is about having better balanced games by having the Matchmaker Being able to know what role people are playing in the game.

This 2/2/2 thing is just the most likely implementation.

But the short answer is I don’t know if all the games will have 2/2/2, because they could use a matchQ.

Thank you for admitting that this “not 222, but rather rolequeue” is probably going to be 222.

With OWL going that way, id argue it is a nigh certainty.

Given that, i think it would be best to dispense with the “its not 222” statement

It isn’t about 2/2/2 in why blizzard wants roleQ though.

People are arguing that it won’t fix the games in a 2/2/2 way, but that isn’t why blizzard is keen on it.

So their arguments isn’t going to get them far with blizzard at all.

For Blizzard the extra data for the Matchmaker is huge.

They are trying to convince the other players that they should be for / against a 2/2/2 system, but they don’t get at all the point of it.

Again…what form of role queue is OWL adopting?

Their players will pick a role before game.

But can enforce 2/2/2 because they WILL have a balanced number of people playing each role.

However, since the player base doesn’t they could adopt matchQ for the ladder.

Because dps queue length.

Just because owl enforces strict 2/2/2 they may not enforce it on ladder.

The news says they are adopting 222

Very specifically 222

And that means ladder will? Because that isn’t a given.

They don’t let them use skins in owl. But we use them here. Chat is disabled for owl, but not in the open or the ladder.

They have special rules for the open not enforced on the ladder.

Going owl is going STRICT 2/2/2 doesn’t mean ladder is.

We will get some kind of roleQ.

If it goes, it will be 222, same as OWL

Not sure why there is a need to dodge around that and separate rolequeue from 222

I just pray it isnt forced, as that will ruin the game for many of us

My point is that roleQ is WHY they are doing it, not the 2/2/2 part.

That is a side effect and not even a given side effect either. There are tradeoffs there.

Unless people come up with alternatives to roleQ, not 2/2/2 we are getting some kind of roleQ system.

Because that is what’s best for Blizzard. That is their goal here.

Everyone is talking around the side effect and not around the primary reason.

They don’t want it, but don’t know the audience they need to talk to.

The two are inseperable, linked at the hip. Not sure why there is a need to deny this near certainty

Thankfully, the “forced” part of it remains up in the air

For now

They are not, that is the point.

MatchQ has roleQ but not strict 2/2/2

If it gets implemented, it will be a major influencer of game design and balance. You can be sure of that. You’ll be impacted by it even if you choose not to use it.

  1. why would you ever que as anything but flex.
  2. if it allows for solo healing, solo tanking, or both, it doesnt solve any problems.

a lot of the fuss is probably coming from dps mains, their queue times are gonna be up significantly, the higher they are in elo the worse it’ll get.

I just hope i…we…all players who wish to retain freedom of heto choice…are provided the choice to not use it…

I kinda hope so to, but from a humor way.

I doubt they will do it because it will be … Evilish

They could implement 303 or 411 or or or…but they wont

But itll almost certainly be 222, if it comes about at all…and i pray it doesnt
