Now that GOATS is done for revert the Armor nerfs

Keeping the entirety of armor across all heroes for Hammond isn’t a good way to approach this. Hammond is not trash tier, nor he ever was, if he needs buffs, he needs buffs, I can hear that argument.

However armor has a hefty influence over 10 heroes in the roster, it should be looked at under the light of more than just Hammond.

Armor was a mistake because they were trying to be lazy and give everyone the same HP.

I’d say she got a side-grade, as the effects of the change depend massively on the situation.

Was she though?

If she didn’t have the ability to shield the way she does, have all the range she does compared to the other tanks and didn’t have fortify which lowers her damage taken, then I would agree but I simply can’t because by design she isn’t forced into engagements as harshly as the other tanks effected by the armor nerfs. Rein was hit pretty hard because he is stuck being in the front line to the point where the armor was a big part of him actually have the ability to be there. D.va was already melting with all the DM changes to her all the time, but this was just an added nail in the coffin for her squishy mech. Winston is mad squishy, but I’ll be damned if that small bit of armor didn’t help him immensely, I know when being healed before the armor nerf, that tiny bit of armor was often the difference between him getting a kill on a buffed Hanzo or Widow because it gave him the extra time he needed.

A lot of her design offsets the level of damage that should have caused to her.

I mean, his effectiveness against Winston is a bit lower than what the gif shows. That gif was made back when his rework was first released. Back when Storm Arrows had 6 arrows that did 80 dmg each, as opposed to 5 arrows that do 70 dmg each now.

I’ve always wanted to consult the people that main those heroes and see what they want for nerfs (while accounting for bias, of course), and my duo mains Hanzo as one of his DPS, and here are the nerfs he’s wanted.

  1. Give him a 15% movement reduction during Storm Arrows to match the slow he gets from his primary (slow during primary is 30%).

  2. NOTE: This is a change for both Hanzo and Widowmaker.

Their kits alone aren’t too strong on paper; it’s the playerbase that’s too good. Both take the damage of their primary fire and make it between 100-120 DPS. That means on a crit, they would at most get 240. At most, I would say their crit should be around 200 since most of the caste is still a 200 threshold and you would need a fully charged while now they only need 60% charge for Widow and just under full for Hanzo. Make their base crit do just enough to kill a 200HP hero. However, if they were to charge their shot a little bit longer than a second (1.25-1.5 seconds), that’s when they get to the 250-300HP territory. The skill of the player is still there, but they’d be more restricted on when they can be as deadly as they were before. A bit more risk and patience for a bit more damage.

I don’t think it’s necessary or healthy for balance to revert it.

Heroes like Tracer, Soldier, Reaper, etc. lose so much strength when armor is strong. None of these heroes are even meta. Why make them worse?

and almost just as important… pls revert some nerfs for D.Va!

One would assume that. Orisa also has the worst mobility out of all the tanks. Those two factors on paper would mean she would be trash tier right now, but she isn’t. She isn’t because she has the best defensive abilities out of all the tanks. A shield about half the health of Reinhardt’s on a 6 second cool down that starts immediately. Fortify that makes her immune to CC and reduces incoming damage by 50%.

Those two abilities alone make Reinhardt laughable because he has to juggle his shield while trying to gain ground. Orisa just stands there holding M1 while spamming the occasional E, and halting Reinhardt backwards so the ground he gained was meaningless. The dive tanks put themselves in a really vulnerable position because they have to dive behind Orisa’s shield which will cut them off from their healers until they catch up.

Orisa’s defensive abilities are pretty much passive abilities because they are up all the time. When you are waiting for a defensive ability to come off cool down as literally any other tank you REALLY feel it. As Orisa, because she can Fortify for so long and the shield cooldown is so short, you will always have one of the two active. I feel immense boredom and very little pressure when I play Orisa because of that. That and because I feel like if I make a mistake it’s not even a big deal. Her kit is very forgiving and holds your hand too much. It gives too many answers to too many problems.

Her shield is on an eight, soon to be nine, second CD.

She has also had both of these abilities since she was introduced, and up until about a month back she’s been considered a throw/niche pick… How do they all of a sudden make Rein laughable as of 2 months ago? Neither of these abilities were buffed, Orisa herself was not buffed either?
