Smurfs always use Genji when they want to carry, and never pick Sombra.
Maybe because Genji is overtuned and Sombra is still garbage tier…
Genji is fun. People make smurfs and main Genji on him, because he is fun.
I agree Sombra is weak, but most people wouldn’t say she is fun either. Those are two reasons you don’t see many Sombra smurfs.
Personally, I do have a Sombra smurf. I enjoy playing her, but I am fully aware I could climb much higher if I played an easier/stronger hero like Genji and really most other DPS.

Name one thing about Genji thats op besides dash resets, instakill combos, team whiping ult, high mobilty, and having the best tank ability that deflects most ults as a dps…go on ill wait

Genji is just fine. Simple and plain. Not overpowered or overtuned in the slightest. Genji’s skill ceiling is ridiculously high, and he isn’t the easiest hero to get into either.

People smurf Genji because he’s overtuned and has no glaring weaknesses and super easy to carry with if you’re better than the enemy.
Dragonblade is a won fight. Best DPS ult in the game in the hands of a smurf is EZ.
Easy to flank supports without communication for peels.
Vertical mobility so can work on every map.
Free escapes.
Some heroes just have way more carry potential unfortunately. More unfortunate when they’re kind of OP.

perhaps the same reason people play mccree/soldier on smurfs and not reinhardt/brigitte? the first 2 are much worse heroes but are less team reliant. it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand lmfao.

If it’s specifically on a smurf it’s because Genji has a good combination of high potential damage output and good mobility, and people who are just starting to play the game and/or people at low ranks don’t know how to counter him.
Sombra is annoying and can carry the fight in other ways but has nowhere near the killing potential Genji does.
Long story short, it’s easier/more fun to get a 6k with genii than it is with Sombra.

You can’t even compare Sombra to Genji. They have two different kits for different purposes. DPS doesn’t mean they can all solo carry a team. However, a good Sombra will cripple the enemy team as much as possible to make it easier for her team to melt them down.
A smurf would rather pick Genji because he can work alone.

He kind of is. His passive mobility makes him hard to hit at low ranks, which means he can charge ult with impunity. Even if you aren’t good at getting combos and dash resets, you don’t die so you never have to leave.

name one thing about brigitte thats op besides a 500 hp shield, self heal and full team AOE heal, instant full heal with no aim requirement on any teammate, a potent and easy to land stun that stops any hero from killing her, and an ult that gives everyone an extra 100 armor for the span of a whole team fight
name one thing about ana thats op besides insanely high burst healing, smallest hitbox in the game, grenade that denies all healing and gives her effective 300 HP while damaging any other potential enemy trying to dive her, an ability that stuns a target for 5.5 seconds and an ult that turns any teammate into an immortal killing machine

and yeah dude deflecting ults is extremely practical, just like how wholehog does 5000 damage, right? wholehog best ultimate in the game ?!?!? xd!?!?

This is one of the aspects of OWL balancing.
It’s much easier to counter Genji in organized play, so Genji being strong is not a problem.
EMP is extremely hard to counter and it massively swings the advantage, so everyone in organized play never wants to see it used. As a result, we get a Sombra who is just barely viable on purpose. Blizzard has all the stats at their disposal, but they also can’t buff an annoying hero.
Strong Sombra would have ruined OWL, just like Junkrat who got sent by OWL balance into forced obsolecense to prevent him from winning fights with Rip-tire and making pros angry.
True but Blizzard can’t balance the game entirely around casuals. They need to throw pros a bone every now and then.
Sombra can’t really carry games but herself.
I don’t understand your point. I am a smurf Moira High Master and still can’t carry games 100% of the time with her when I do smurf. If my team don’t listen or whatever. Then I can tell it a lose.
