Nothing for Reinhardt, huh?

I’m not sure what can really be done for Reinhardt aside from fixing his bugs. I’d like it if he was more “rooted” when his shield is up so Junkrat can’t knock him around like a pinball. But if Reinhardt gets real buffs he could become OP pretty quickly.

Except Torbjorn is not a tank but a DPS. And if you build around him your team can still collapse with ease when you lack a Main Tank to hold up the front line.

This is because Blizzard’s approach to the roles in this game is very much based in MMO logic. You have a main tank who is designed to withstand the most punishment and is generally very threatening so as to encourage people to attack them. You have the off-tank who brings in damage and utility but lacks in outright tanking power, you have a Main Healer whose job is mainly to keep the tanks alive, and you have an off-healer who brings in some healing, some damage, but mainly utility.

The DPS slots are the least restricted of the slots, as you can drop a DPS for a 2nd off-tank (like Roadhog) or Hybrid character (like Brigitte).

Says who?!

This is utter nonsense. People play what they want to play and what they’re good at. A team of six supports could work if your team was coordinated enough to pull it off. I’ve won games solo healing as Brig “an off-support” without any tanks whatsoever and a Symmetra.

Your definition of the meta is entirely subjective. If you even try to bring in OWL statistics into this, you’re trying to act as if you can play as coordinated and skillfully as the pros themselves, which less than .1% of the playerbase can. This is why the “Dive Meta” was utter chaos in an actual game, because nobody understood Dive only worked when your team was coordinated enough to focus fire and move as a cohesive unit.

Right now the ‘mindless meta’ people are complaining about is running 3 tanks and 3 supports. Which is a “main tank” there? You’re just a deathball walking in, barrier or not because you’re stacking health.

Why are you even bringing meta into this discussion?

Meta has nothing to do with the idea of main tanks.

You are literally describing the metagame by bringing roles into question. If we weren’t talking meta, we’d be speaking purely of the strengths of individual heroes and not how they synergize or counter others.

That’s the metagame.

No wonder you don’t understand what a main tank is…

The idea of a main tank is not even remotely related to meta…

Okay. You win. Rein’s a main tank. I’m going to stop arguing before I get flagged even more.

I agree Reinhardt could use some tweaks but most importantly right now

HE NEEDS BUG FIXING

He has more bugs than any hero!
(I’m not including doomfist because he is his own story)

Every single competitively viable comp features a main tank, be it Reinhardt, Orisa, or Winston as a requirement.

Off-tank then varies based on main tank or intention. Typically Zarya with Rein, Hog with Orisa, D.Va with Winston.

After that is the healers, Mercy with mobile comps or as a general choice, Moira or Ana if you decide to drop a DPS for a 2nd off-tank, which will typically be Roadhog or D.Va. Main healer can be opted to be dropped for a second off healer for Winston based comps assuming the team can burst targets down effectively to make up for their reduced sustain from weak healers.

DPS in general is very free for choices, though it is best to pair high mobility heroes with Winston/D.Va based comps. While long range heroes pair well with Orisa or Reinhardt lead comps.

And I am not even talking metas at this point. I am talking basic team building and the roles that a viable team requires assuming equal skill level.

Naturally if your enemy is terrible in comparison to you then having a properly built team is less of a concern. That is why Bronze has no meta. Everything works in Bronze.

Can they make it so junkrat mines can’t be thrown through barriers?

Even if they made junkrat’s mines treat barriers as terrain there would still be the same cases as with pulse bomb where if you move the shield the explosion can bug through the shield.

And it probably does not get blocked by barriers because it is not a contact explosive but a remote detonated one.

While I agree that tanks need defensive buffs, I don’t think any group of players take priority, the Ana outcry has been going for months and tanks started feeling really flimsy recently, they can’t jump the gun on every little thing

Brigitte’s existence is a Rein buff. Ana buff also equates to a Rein buff. What you complaining about?

We’re complaining about bugs and him not being able to tank properly.

Zarya is not a main tank. Orisa is not fine, her pickrate is a joke without a punchline. Winston is now a dumpster fire.

Orisa is just really a niche pick atm.
Mostly just used in all the places where you can drop people.

Winston isn’t a complete dumpster fire, he can still do stuff, he’s just having a hard time now that everyone is playing deathball and the supports aren’t free kills.

Nah he is done for as long as Brigitte is a must pick. He will see zero play in Grandmaster.

I’ve seen him being used in a couple games, but yeah he’s not doing all that well atm.
(Not that i’ve played many games yet, just 6)

This will sound weird, but he is a must pick, weakest choice… The way the meta is set right now, they need his shield so that Brig can get close. This Meta is who’s Brig is better.

The way CCwatch is running, next season with be cartoon CS:GO. I will still roll myself out there as a tank, but sadly, it is not enjoyable at all anymore

Going for a guaranteed, short range pin to only have them bump off you.
Shattering and having not one person in the cone be effected
Having your shield shredded in less than 5 seconds than having to hide behind a pole
Getting booped 400 miles when you have your shield up, and all you can do is hold it up
Having the strongest CCs in the game go straight through your shield
Oh… and having your only purpose being to hold up your shield…
