Not playing until 6v6 comes back

Anyone else in this boat?
I was an off tank main and now overwatch 2 just isn’t for me. Years playing off tank and they delete the role.
5v5 has been an unmitigated failure.
Tank counter swapping constantly
Support having the game in a stranglehold
I’m not going into much detail as the games not worth it. It’s just bad and everyone See’s overwatch as a joke now

Nope, not in that boat. I’m in the “enjoying the game” boat, but best of luck to you and your endeavors.

as much as i like 6v6 and wish for its return (like Overwatch as a whole) its virtually impossible as Blizzard would rather let the game die completely than admiting a failure.
(dispite admiting a failure is generally a sign of real strength)

I’m not a huge fan of this whole “Bring back 6v6 movement”… but I absolutely despise the current state of the game and I see no future “buffs” or “reworks” that don’t annihilate my favorite heroes. Any changes done to them would instantly have to be reverted or removed from the game, essentially killing my fun/reason to play the game.

So as of right now… yeah I agree

I enjoyed 6v6 (and OW1) way more than what we have now, but ofc it’s a personal opinion and not everyone would agree.

Check the workshop. Apparently some 6v6 game modes floating around, though I hear they are a bit buggy. Might help tide you over.

I came here to ask this. Why isn’t there any work shop modes for 6 v 6 when we have the tools? Or did they just run off nearly every OW1 player in this mess?

“Bring back 6v6!!!” has the same energy as “I hate middle school! Let me go back to elementary!”

That ship has sailed. Join us in reality.

There are workshop modes with 6v6 out there. There’s been threads about them recently. You may have to do some searching for them, as they are buggy so they haven’t gained much traction.

It’s more like cutting off your toes to make a pair of shoes fit. They fixed the things that were contributing to the issues of 6 v 6, but now made 20 more problems out of it. Can re-tool some things and easily revert back, but they won’t, because that would admit they made a mistake, and god forbid that.

I think with some decent balance, 5v5 haters might come around

But that’s the problem. They don’t want to balance the game, they made that clear. They want every season to be a new broken hero, to keep you engaged and spending money in the shop, keeping you stringing along playing that game of whack a mole. They want OW to run like a casino. They aren’t interested in balancing any thing.

I’m not with you OP but I stopped playing comp because the matchmaking has gotten worse to the point where it’s no longer worth my time. I’ll give it another chance once S7 starts. But I only played like 20 comp games this entire season.

Literally, the first comp game I got after coming back from 2 week hiatus was my tank leaving mid-game for no reason. Second comp game was a bit better, but the game was basically a free win with no challenge.

I didn’t play any comp at all in S2 it seems like, so I must’ve been busy. But besides that according to overbuff, I’ve played the least amount of ranked games this season.

I still regularly play QP though. Also, my issue might be related to my region (OCE) which probably severely lacks playerbase.

They need to try harder cause I’m a die-hard OW enjoyer and have only bought 2 BP’s and zero skins. I’m not wealthy but am happy to spend a few bucks in games I really enjoy. They missed the mark for me with their shop.

As am I my friend. Well, I was, now this game is kind of an abusive relationship. I have 4 paid OW1 accounts, a Sombra only 900+ hour account with every unlock (except the skin you get from Blizzcon), etc.

This game could be amazing, but they just keep taking 1 step forward 4 steps back, because all they are interested in is what they can milk the player base for. That’s the fear every one had when Activision acquired them so long ago. They’ve run off all the talent that had the heart and soul of Overwatch and now it’s just a car headed for a cliff while they try to get as much money from the shop as they can before it goes over.
