Not Happy with Symmetra's "Rework" (Read - "Removal")

I saw it coming. That’s why I made the following threads to provide information regarding the best way to buff Symmetra.

Sentry Turrets

Movement speed reduction during Turret deployment reduced to 0% (down from 25%).
Cast time of Turrets reduced to 0.7 seconds (down from 1.4 seconds).**
Turret Deployment range increased to 15m (up from 10m).
Turret Cooldown reduced to 8 seconds (down from 10 seconds)

1. Who is Symmetra?

What is her core identity?

Symmetra’s defining characteristics are -

She is a Melee hero with a Ranged penetrating fireball
She is a hybrid of Tank-Defense-Support, she is jack of all trades, master of none
She has close-range Turrets that act like Spider webs, by holding enemies down, damaging them and attracting their firepower towards themselves (Defense)
She has a Barrier that can be used to protect not just herself but also her Ults and Allies… she can protect the front line from the backline (Tank)
She has Ultimates that either make the team Tankier or bring them back to the Primary Point of Contention, they can stay up indefinitely, thus this makes them Secondary Point of Contention which creates unique gameplay (Support)

So Symmetra is a Melee Tank-Defense-Support Hybrid, who uses 6 Turrets, 1 Barrier and 1 Tp/SG to perform 1 of each role.

Any buff to Symmetra must preserve her core identity and should seek to buff the flaws of her kit itself before anything else.

Now recently, I am seeing a lot of people suggesting that we should remove this ability and replace it with another one.

And to replace it they often suggest some plain and boring ability, which is too weak to really be a fair trade for the Photon Barrier.

So I am making this thread to discuss Photon Barrier and how good it really is, because many people underestimate its power.

I am also going to talk about where it can be weak, and suggest ways to improve it, in case the Devs decide to buff Symmetra’s power level.

So let’s get right into it -

They tried to make sym the best she could be. It didn’t work. So they have to rework her

I don’t think so.

I want to see a Symmetra 2.0 like rework - like improving her current mechanics, removing the clunkiness with placement and lowering cooldowns.

They never did that.

They went straight to Sanjay 1.0.
