Next Map. What do you wish for?

Tell me what you wish for the next Map to be.

I would love a map based on different landmarks of San Francisco, such as the Palace of Fine Arts, Coit Tower, the Financial District, Lombard Street, etc, with views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz in the background.

Going with actual OW locations…

  1. Monaco. Talon leader Maximilien lives there, so it could easily be turned into an escort map for information, or a capture point with Talon vs OW vibes.

  2. Watchpoint: Grand Mesa - Located somewhere in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Colorado is so pretty.

  3. Indiana - Jack’s home state. Not sure what we could show. The map is just covered in corn. You have to run through it and try to find the enemy. And your team. And anything, really.

Utopaea the symm map!

With lots of TP pad or warp zones going up and down etc
Could be way more interesting than jump
Pads
and hardlight doors or walls that deconstruct and construct in a timely manner creating variety in map and using it as an advantage.

I’m hoping for Utopia, India. A bustling city made of light sounds beautiful and I’d love to see it. Probably will look similar to the Institute from Fallout 4 though :worried:

Jump pads would be cool.
There would have to be some sort of difficulty level to master them, because they could give really nice short cuts.
And it would make people excited to play the map.

That would be nice. It would also be cool if there were zones (like short corridors) that periodically fill with hardlight energy, for environmental kills.

I have allot of things going thru my mind while imagining what would Utopia look like

Here are some of my ideas

  • Warp Zones or TP pads
  • animated hardlight bridge or stairs that moves location from time to time
  • walls that can deconstruct and change location
  • hardlight elevators like that of hollywood
  • a speed track hardlight thruster on the ground, give you a one diractional push
  • shield stations that charge like large medipaks, grant you 100 shield( throws back to symm old E) dont regen when all shield are depleted.
    Only two stations so player will make the most out lf it.

A map that is interactive will give new ways on playing and ways of coming up with diff strategy rather than a usual maps we had.

I’d like a 2CP map, maybe Sweden because we have 2 heroes from there and no map for them. It could be trying to capture Torb and Brig’s workshops, which are incredibly messy.

The shields might be a little op especially for a map, but I like all of the other ideas

Two words:

Swiss HQ.

I was thinking of it akin to medipacks, when you deplete all of the sheild it will not regen anymore and maybe a little longer charge time.

It could be a payload map where success makes the base explode.

My only thought was that if they removed shield gen from the game, they prob thought it was too op. So putting it on a map available to everyone, and it gives 100 shields, might not be something the devs want.

I understand the concern but it only works for one map so its not that OP i think, makes the map more unique tbh

The Sombra predator games will be frightening.

But I would kill for more lore-friendly maps. Like Swiss HQ or locations from the comics like the place from Ana: Legacy or Monaco from Masquerade.

Maybe we even get a train map like in TF2 from the Trainhopper comic

I would love to see dynamic maps. I would think it would be cool if we capture a point and suddenly the map changes in a way that opens and closes new paths to move through by say destructive elements. For example, we capture a point and suddenly the map floods and it becomes an environmental hazard, players are forced to fight on high ground or narrow passage ways, there are booping zones now etc.

That sounds really cool.
Especially with the walls and changing, it would keep the map feeling new.
