šŸ„€ Next hero might be make-or-break for me

Perhaps I’m not alone in having felt increasingly disillusioned with this game for more than a year now. I’ve tried my best in being patient and understanding of the balance changes and complete rework of some heroes, in hopes that with enough engagement and feedback with developers, a better balance might be struck for everyone involved. Maybe that’s naive of me to believe possible from a development standpoint.

But it continuously feels as if feedback falls on deaf ears. Even when it comes to bugs that make some hero’s kits unpredictable in execution. The only exception seemingly being when influencers and OWL players make their opinions heard.

I know the majority of the playerbase for this game upholds the value of ā€˜skill’ above all else. Usually this is just synonymous with ā€˜aim’. And it really does feel like there’s been an ongoing erosion of most of the accessible heroes this game has had to offer.

At this point I think things are spiraling downward. Especially when you consider the new OWL command centre costs almost as much as the standard version of Overwatch. It’s clear where the money lies, and where the team’s priorities are placed. And I’m honestly just really sad about it!

Do y’all have like a folder filled with copy and pastes of generic ā€œthe overwatch team aren’t doing x thingsā€ threads?

I’m just sharing my thoughts, PanPan. Didn’t know criticism was frowned upon here.

They are frowned upon when thousands of threads say the exact same thing that everyone knows. Yours specifically is no different. I would get a similar response that I gave you if I made another rework Mercy thread, regardless of how strongly I believe in it.

Well just a heads up 🤔 Come one, come all, to Leonora’s latest Party in Paris

Honestly, I feel like I don’t want to play until they release Echo, they teased us so hard.

I can’t wait til echo is also game breaking for everyone…

You seem to forget that not everyone spends the entire day lurking the forums. It’s funny because it seems like saltiness and number of posts are positively correlated

Like to see a tank or another healer

Same, but with echo instead :hibiscus:

That wasn’t my full point. I also mentioned that the devs not being on top of things is obvious to anyone who keeps up with the game, and a forum post like this is just stating the obvious.
If I made a thread saying, ā€œbastion isn’t picked much and that isn’t goodā€ would I suddenly be praised and everyone would go ā€œhold up you’re right, I only just noticed omg thank you so muchā€.

Before abandon OW, i think i’ll see Echo. I want her so much, and she could give me new air or nope.
I hope she will give me the enjoyment i had in the first days.
But she should arrive fastly.

Mentioning the same issue over and over makes it a clear point that something is wrong. If many players feel the same way then there’s a problem. That’s the way all forums for companies work. If many customer report the same grievance than something is definitely wrong. Chill out and stop trying to police the forum.

Except the issue has gotten to the devs, just hasn’t been actioned upon.

How isn’t telling someone their obvious post is obvious ā€œpolicingā€ the forums. Please enlighten me.

You cant be certain that it has been, mentioning it again is a good way to make it known its an issue. The more posts about it the higher its priority.

Its a subtle way to tell someone ā€œstop posting thisā€

No? Telling them it’s obvious isn’t devaluing their point, just letting them know that it’s known.

And letting them know that it’s known is basically saying ā€œThis is unnecessary and you shouldn’t have posted itā€

Just this bit. Unnecessary and shouldn’t have happened aren’t related.

So, dissatisfied people should just not communicate because other people have already said something similar? I’m failing to see any logic here.
It’s telling that there is so much dissent towards the development team. It’s an indication that perhaps things really do need to change, and a precursor in creating change.

I’d suggest spending less time on this forum if you don’t like these types of threads popping up. It might be healthier for you that way. Instead of trying to silence people via putdowns, just because you’re tired of such topics. Girl, please.

As long as the next hero isn’t like a Doomfist or Mei, then I’ll feel satisfied with it.

Doomfist: A hero which was at one point very powerful but then nerfed to be made extremely underpowered

Mei: A niche hero that isn’t viable in most situations.
